DC has been working on a bunch of new movies right now and Blue Beetle is among them. Like every one of them, DC has done a great job in concealing everything about them. But in this world of social media, concealing is next to impossible. A Twitter user has just leaked some new Blue Beetle set photos that reveal the full look at his superhero suit. Blue Beetle is an upcoming movie, set in the DC Extended Universe, featuring the Jaime Reyes version of the character. The events of the movie will mostly follow the comics lore where Jaime stumbles upon a Blue Scarab that attaches itself to his spine. This symbiotic relationship gives Jaime his powers, which it uses to help other superheroes. In the comics, he was the third individual to take on the mantle of the Blue Beetle so there is a chance that the movie will explain the scarab’s history. The movie features an ensemble cast including Xolo Maridueña(Jaime Reyes), Bruna Marquezine(Jenny), George Lopez(Uncle Rudy) and Damián Alcázar(Alberto Reyes) among others.
This movie is among the many projects that plan to return the DCEU in all its glory. But more than that, this movie plans to introduce the first Latino superhero in the Universe. To make this a big success, the reigns are handed over to Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer for writing the screenplay and to Angel Manuel Soto for directing this tribute to their community. NEW SET IMAGES REVEALED THE FIRST SUPERHERO SUIT
The movie is currently in its production stage, with the principal shooting taking place over in Atlanta. These images, released on Twitter by Just Jared (via @_MarvelMania_), come straight from the set. They reveal the first look at the superhero costume, that seems right out of the comic books. Now that you have seen them, you might remember these from the concept art that DC execs revealed last year at the DC FanDome event. This calls for a great shoutout to the costumes department, especially Mayes C. Rubeo. For all the readers who are unaware of his work, he has been a constant costume designer for MCU projects like Thor: Ragnarok and Love and Thunder, and even WandaVision.
Even though it is too early to tell, seeing such an awesome team at work guarantees a great film. After having a good look at the costume, we are eagerly anticipating this movie. DC’s track record hasn’t been good lately so it will be a shame if this movie ends up delayed. But instead of that, we should focus on more looks from the sets, now that the first one is out.
