Gorr’s All Black Sword vs Stormbreaker and Mjolnir?! Which Weapon Is Stronger?

As Thor: Love and Thunder is coming close to its release, fans are getting more and more excited for Gorr. Gorr is an extra-terrestrial being who is hell-bent on killing every God he can. He possesses an all-powerful sword, called the All-Black, that is capable of overpowering Thor. But is this sword enough for putting down Thor with his Mjolnir or Stormbreaker? Let’s find look at the match-up: All Black Sword vs Stormbreaker and Mjolnir!

After suffering through the deaths of his entire family, one by one, Gorr was struck with grief. And when he came around to know about the Gods’ existence, he set out to kill every single one of them for not listening to his hundreds of prayers. He took on the weapon of the first God he overpowered, which fused with him as a mass of living darkness. Hence, came around the All-Black! As for his major opponent in his MCU debut film, Thor: Love & Thunder, Thor possessed the Mighty Hammer, Mjolnir, for the longest time. Many thought that it was the most powerful object in the MCU until Hela destroyed it like it was a piece of bread.

Thor Will Appear in Another Film

Since then Thor has been using his Stormbreaker, forged from a dying star, just like his Mjolnir. Stormbreaker, as its creator Eitri described it, is a King’s weapon and is powerful enough to channel enough energy through itself to summon the Bifrost. So, the question keeps popping up – Is Thor’s Stormbreaker stronger than Gorr’s sword? Or will Gorr be able to overpower Thor with the infamous All-Black?

All Black Sword vs Stormbreaker

If we go by the source material, Gorr’s sword can easily stand up to the Stormbreaker. And it can even overpower it. After all, they don’t call him “The God Butcher” for nothing! But to solve this debate, we have to understand the history of the All-Black and how Gorr came to acquire it. All-Black was once wielded by the God of Darkness, Knull, who was the creator of the Venom symbiote. It is also known as the first symbiote Knull created, thus, giving it controlling powers over its wielder. And the sword used these powers to choose Gorr as its wielder!

In the comics, Knull once waged a war against the all-powerful Celestials and even managed to decapitate one of them. If you didn’t know earlier, Knowhere is actually the severed head of that celestial. And if we go by the comics, Knull established his symbiote kingdom at Knowhere. Apart from bringing out the worst from his wielder, the All-Black possesses the powers of summoning weapons and other things from pure darkness. And if that isn’t terrifying enough, it even allows its wield to fly! Not to mention, bringing out the worst in its wielder, as a Venom symbiote does.

All Black Sword vs Stormbreaker

As for Stormbreaker, we have no doubt that it is a formidable weapon. The weapon proved its strength mere minutes after its debut in the MCU. When nobody could even bring the second drop of blood out of Thanos’ body, Thor managed to create a 15-inch cavity in Thanos’ torso. However, it lost the majority of its strength when Thor couldn’t even overpower 2014 Thanos in Avengers: Endgame. Plus, it is anything like Mjolnir, the MCU’s Stormbreaker doesn’t even possess half the strength of its comic counterpart. Marvel developers have seriously undermined the powers of Mjolnir, and fans have registered their disappointment many times before. So, if Marvel underpowers Stormbreaker as well, Gorr might get an upper hand.

Facts About The Venom Symbiote

While this debate may have started by comparing the powers of Gorr and Thor’s weapons, it might pave the way to our new theory. The All-Black must have an eternal relation with Knull, at least it did in the comics. So, if Gorr brings the sword in the MCU, it might also lead Knull to enter the Universe as well. Knull is a formidable villain who is capable of killing the very creators of the universe. And if he enters in the MCU, following Gorr, Thor might be in for a treat! This could also be the perfect opportunity for Marvel to bring in their version of symbiotes in the MCU!
