Captain Marvel’s Strength Could Create a Villain Problem in Avengers 5

We will once again get a chance to witness Captain Marvel in action since we last saw her in Avengers: Endgame. This time around she won’t be alone as the character will be appearing next to some of the other female superheroes. Appearing in a team doesn’t mean that she will be less powerful as we can be sure that we will see some significant development in her character this time around. Not much is known regarding the plot of the upcoming sequel or solo venture but there is a chance that an update to Captain Marvel might impact the future of the MCU. If Carol Danvers becomes even stronger in The Marvels, it might cause a serious villain problem in Avengers 5.

The Marvels

One of the most awesome moments in Avengers: Endgame was when Captain Marvel enters the battle. We saw all the cannons getting pointed at her and she was able to destroy the ship by simply flying through it once. Ever since then, the character has been busy with her galactic adventures and we will get to see her in the upcoming The Marvel which will be a sequel to her own solo venture. This time around we will get to see the trio appear in the movie with Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan also appearing next to Carol Danvers. While Monica was shown getting her powers in WandaVision, Kamala Khan will make her debut in the Disney+ series Ms. Marvel.

There is a lot of expectation from the character of Captain Marvel yet. Fans might remember that she was once being said to be the strongest hero in the MCU but we haven’t really gotten to see much of this powerful character yet. In an interview with Insider, Brie Larson stated regarding the character’s upcoming appearance:

In the first film she’s developing that strength, and so I was developing my own personal strength with this one. She’s already got more mastery over her powers. She can fly now. And so having my body more limber, more ready for these types of movements like wirework, which I didn’t have to do as much on the first one, was the main goal.

Problems Captain Marvel’s Power Up Could Cause

Since her debut in the MCU, Captain Marvel’s power level has played a major role in the franchise. It was made clear that she is the most powerful character in MCU. This put an essential notice on the villains who might pose a threat to her. In the case of Thanos, Danvers managed to attack him but failed to make a strong impact yet. But that was only the first major villain in the franchise and we can be sure that there will be another major villain as the franchise proceeds. Now that Captain Marvel will become more powerful we are left to wonder if the villain will pose a threat to Danvers.

Villain Problem in Avengers 5

It is quite difficult to create a superhero team if one particular character is given a lot of power. We saw that Danvers was kept away from most of the narrative of Endgame. Even though it was hinted to be because she was busy dealing with events across the universe, it also worked with the idea of giving other characters being given an essential time in the plot for the movie. If she was present in the movie more the difficulty faced by our heroes would be cut by a massive amount and it would make for a lot simpler than what we ended up getting to see.

Based on the events of the franchise so far, there are theories indicating that Kang the Conqueror will be the next big baddie. Kang could use his powers to manipulate things and thus prove to be a challenge to Captain Marvel. But still, when it comes to battle, it won’t be long before Captain Marvel defeats this enemy and this would prove to be a significant challenge for the future of the franchise. With new character making their debut, they would also require some essential role to play in the franchise and it would be difficult to manage all this together.
