6 Really Awkward MCU Scenes That Must Have Taken Place Off-Screen

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has quite a bunch of movies under its belt over the years. Even then some of the things that we get to see in these movies don’t actually take place right in front of us. With 30 movies now, not all the characters have been given a chance to be explored like we might have expected to. Often certain character developments take place off-screen and we only get to witness it in other narratives. For example, Hulk’s entire narrative has been dealt with in a spread-out format with each of his appearances in other projects. Let’s take a look at some of the most Awkward MCU Scenes that might have taken place offscreen.

Scott Lang’s Recruitment (Captain America: Civil War)

Avengers: Endgame Ant-Man MCU

The events of the Civil War are primarily responsible for the failure that the heroes face in Avengers: Infinity War. This event actually led to a major division between the Avengers and they were pitted against each other. While the two teams looked for people to add to their ensemble, Cap’s team got hold of Ant-Man. This was linked by the fact that Scott had actually come across Falcon during one of his heists in Ant-Man. But Clint is the one who is actually tasked with bringing Scott along. We are left wondering about the process that the duo must have gone through in order to bring Scott along. Clint is a rather motivated and serious persona which is quite opposite to Scott’s entire persona.

Really Good Lawyer” (Spider-Man: No Way Home)

Awkward MCU Scenes

Spider-Man: No Way Home has some of the most exciting moments that absolutely made for great fanservice. This includes the appearance of characters from past Spider-Man films in terms of both Spidey’s and the villains. But the appearance of Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock was also equally shocking considering it has long been theorized by fans. Even though he didn’t get to appear as Daredevil the character did manage to show off his skills. We saw him catching a brick without even looking and it was absolutely shocking for Peter Parker. This clearly makes us wonder if Peter might have had a conversation about this absolutely crazy moment with Aunt May. That might have made for a rather awkward conversation between the two.

Captain America Returning The Infinity Stones (Avengers: Endgame)

One of the most important events in Endgame was when Captain America was headed back to return the stones to their own timelines. This was done because when Bruce Banner went to take the Time Stone from the Ancient One she told him about the alternate timelines logic. But we only get to see Captain America heading back in time and the entire part of him going to the individual timelines is now shown. The most tragic stone acquiring process was when Clint and Natasha went to take the Soul Stone. This exchange was an everlasting one for the soul of Natasha Romanoff. We are left wondering about the exchange that might have occurred between Captain America and Red Skull when the former tried to return the stone.

On Your Left” (Avengers: Endgame)

Endgame had one of the best scenes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe when the heroes face Thanos and his army. Fans went absolutely crazy when all the heroes who had perished during the end of Avengers: Infinity War made it back and joined the battle. This scene actually starts with Sam contacting Cap by saying, “On your left“, which is a reference to Captain America: Winter Soldier. While the reference might have helped a lot, this scene actually might have gone quite differently off-screen. We are left to wonder if Sam actually requested Wong to make sure that he appears in the portal that is on the left to Captain America from behind. It is an awkward moment considering he might have had to explain the joke behind it.

T’Challa’s Return To Wakanda (Avengers: Endgame)

Awkward MCU Scenes

The status of Black Panther is still not clear to the fans of the franchise following the death of Chadwick Boseman. But his final appearance in the franchise has left us wondering about what might have happened minutes before the scene. Endgame saw Bruce Banner using the Infinity Gauntlet to bring back everyone and he actually succeeded. Later we would get to see Captain America about to battle Thanos and his army when Falcon would contact him. One of the most epic moments unfolds as all the characters who were brought back appear from portals made by Wong himself. Black Panther aka T’Challa appears with the other Wakandans during this battle sequence through the portal. But we are actually left wondering what might have happened when T’Challa reappeared in Wakanda. They must have found some other person for the throne during the period of the ‘blip’.

Bruce Banner’s Brutal Kills (Thor: Ragnarok)

Even though the Marvel Cinematic Universe manages to keep things low, most of the heroes have had various kills. Captain America was a soldier and we can be sure that he had his fair share of kills. At the same time, Black Widow and Hawkeye are actually two of the greatest assassins in the MCU. But Hulk doesn’t actually stray from this path and we can be sure that he has actually done some interesting kills back in Sakaar. When Thor reaches Sakaar, he discovers that one of Korg’s friends Doug was actually killed by Hulk. Hulk had taken the mantle of the Grandmaster’s Champion and it is fairly obvious that he had some of his interesting kills off-screen to secure his mantle.
