The Mad Max universe has somehow come back from development hell with the release and success of Mad Max: Fury Road. But the character who dominated the screen in that movie was not Max but Furiosa. Charlize Theron’s character is a fan favorite for her courage and her willingness to get her hands dirty. Not to mention the fact that she was brave enough to go against Immortan Joe and steal his breeders to give them a better life. No wonder she became the breakout character of the movie and somehow managed to get a movie focused on her younger years. Not much was known about this project but now the villain of Furiosa has been revealed.
Villain of Furiosa
Kyle Buchanan wrote Blood, Sweat & Chrome: The Wild and True Story of Mad Max: Fury Road which comes out on Feb 22, 2022. This book will detail the development hell that the movie went through. The reporter recently appeared in a podcast episode of Blank Check with Griffin and David. Here he shares that Chris Hemsworth is playing the villain in the Furiosa movie. Specifically, the reporter said, “They have Chris Hemsworth as the villain, who I heard was called Dr. Dementus”. We don’t know who Dr. Dementus is but this sounds badass. Watching Chris Hemsworth be a part of the Mad Max universe is like telling a kid that the ice cream place now serves donut ice cream.
The kid will be excited but there are going to be a lot of questions about the feasibility of the said task. We presume that the actor will take a more antagonistic demeanor than what we are used to seeing. It would certainly be interesting to see what kind of range Hemsworth shows in this character and it could even pave the way for future villain roles in the MCU. We have only known Hemsworth as the lovable God of Thunder, seeing him portray an antagonistic character will surely be an interesting experience.
