Why Grogu is Getting a Beskar Armor Explained

The Star Wars franchise has seen some troubled times. After the sale of the film rights to Disney Lucasfilms has been shrouded in controversy for the strange lore choices that their universe made. Everything from Kylo ren to Rey was heavily criticized even when The Force Awakens raked in huge profits from the box office. However, Lucasfilms brought the valor back to the franchise by releasing The Mandalorian on Disney+. The show went back to the roots of the franchise’s roots and this had amazing implications. Now The Book of Boba Fett continues this tradition of excellence. Episode 5 had some amazing cameos and raised a lot of questions, the biggest of which is why Grogu is getting a Beskar armor?

At the end of the finale of The Mandalorian, Djarin had dropped Grogu off with Luke Skywalker so that the child could be raised to harness his Jedi powers. But as an infant of only 50 years, the child still needs some degree of protection. So it seems that Djarin is looking to enhance his defenses as best he can. The latest episode of The Book of Boba Fett was titled The Return of the Mandalorian, and rightly so because most of the episode focuses on Din Djarin.

Grogu is Getting A Beskar Armor

He shows up to THE armorer from season 1 of The Mandalorian with a beskar spear and the legendary Dark Saber to have them reforged as armor for Grogu. Although Din dropped the foundling off with Luke he is still concerned for a member of his clan. He says to the armorer that he wishes to see Grogu, to keep him safe. This very idea is quite heartwarming and it makes sense that Djarin would go out of the way to keep Grogu safe. It also seems that the main cast from the original trilogy will be present when Din finally reunites with Grogu.

Most Iconic Character Trios in Movies

You see, there is a rumor floating around which suggests that Luke, Leia, and Han will make an appearance in The Book of Boba Fett. They have not made one yet but after The Return of The Mandalorian, it seems that episode 6 will be the best place for these cameos. Since we can be sure that Grogu will appear in the next episode, it would make sense to include Luke, Leia, and Han in the same setting. This would make for a great easter egg. But we may also see these heroes engaging in battle. How fun would be to see Luke training Grogu.

It is possible that the armor The Mandalorian is commissioning is to help Grogu train alongside Jedi masters. This would make sense since Luke did promise that he would train the foundling in the ways of the Jedi. A training session between the master and student with the new armor would bring a tear to the guardian’s (Djarin’s) eye. This is what he had been striving for since the start of his adventure with the younglings and now it will finally come to fruition. There would also be more easter eggs in the episode for us to dissect. Still, we have one more question about this future….

Is This Armor Going To Be Mandalorian

It will come as no surprise to anyone that Din Djarin is quite orthodox in his beliefs. Part of his reason for care of Grogu is because the youngling is now a foundling of his clan. As the current leader of the clan, he has an implicit responsibility to protect him, which is what he seems to be doing. But the real question is whether the child will get a Mandalorian armor made out of beskar or not. Since he has been fostered by The Mandalorian it would make sense to give him the same armor.

Din’s return to the armorer also signifies his commitment to “The Way” even though he broke his custom by showing Grogu his face. Whatever the case might be, the next episode of The Book of Boba Fett will surely be an interesting one. Do you think our analysis is accurate or does it sound like a made-up theory?
