His portrayal of Black Panther is much beloved by fans. There are even some interesting developments that the project is supposed to have. These are supposed to serve the future of the franchise. MCU is making some major changes that will actually lead to other storylines. These changes will probably lead to some other narratives leading to a whole new set of heroes. A new Black Panther: Wakanda Forever rumor actually indicates that the movie is going to set up a Namor spinoff, and it tells us about Doctor Doom.

Wakanda Forever

Black Panther was one of the most successful movies from Marvel Studios. The movie is still the thirteenth highest-grossing film worldwide with a sum of $1.3 billion attached to its name. The movie also set up an interesting trend around the world. It is also the only movie that has actually got a nomination for Best Picture at the Academy Awards. This was because of the interesting narrative and at the same time the brilliant performances by each actor involved. There are many theories on how the sequel to this movie will fare considering it has undergone a lot of problems with its development.

The movie has undergone some major changes during its production. Chadwick Boseman’s passing back in 2020 actually led to a full rewrite of the script for the film. But even then there was some promise regarding Ryan Coogler and the writers finding a fitting tribute for Boseman in the movie. But the rewrite actually led to the film’s release date being pushed to November 2022 from May of the same year. There has been a clear indication that the MCU won’t be recasting for the character of T’Challa in honor of Boseman. This led to rumors and theories that T’Challa’s sister Shuri taking on the mantle of Black Panther. While that might be an interesting development, there’s another exciting rumor surrounding the project.

Namor Spinoff

One of the major theories surrounding Black Panther 2 has been that it will introduce us to the world of Atlanteans with Namor. According to BleedingCool, the movie is actually supposed to feature Namor, Namora, and Atlantean warlord Attuma. This will actually be done with a war between Wakanda and Atlantis. The rumor states that Namor’s addition in the movie will be much like how Black Panther was in Captain America: Civil War. This would actually lead to the character getting his own spinoff movie.

The movie will also be providing an opportunity for Fantastic Four villain Doctor Doom to make an appearance in the movie. According to Andy Signore from Fandomwire, Doom will be appearing as the main villain pulling the strings behind the events of Black Panther 2. Not only that but the report also suggests that the villain won’t be making his debut as Victor but in full Doctor Doom armor. Based on this report, Doom might actually be the next big baddie following the footsteps of Thanos. Doom will be the reason for the war between the Atlanteans and Wakanda.

Namor Spinoff

Marvel had hinted at the existence of both Wakanda and Atlanta in their early movies. Iron Man 2 actually showed a S.H.I.E.L.D logo over the ocean on a map. There was another major hint at Atlantis when Endgame talked about an underwater Earthquake. This was actually being linked to the rise of the Celestial Tiamut and that actually might have caused some chaos for the Atlanteans. MCU already has a Fantastic Four movie in development and it would make sense for them to already hint at the characters of Doctor Doom and Namor.
