Report: New MCU Comedy Show At Works For Disney+

The Marvel Cinematic Universe seems to invest in every possible element that the fans have enjoyed so far in the projects. This was clear from the fact that fans had actually enjoyed the zombie episode from the Disney+ animated series What If…?. The same narrative has now been picked for an entire show and fans will be getting to see an entire narrative built around the story being explored. Marvel is known to be quite creative in the ways in which it has established certain narratives and this also includes humor in a very strong manner. The franchise knows how to have a chuckle or two and that goes to show their very intelligence in dealing with that emotion. Marvel Studios is working on an MCU comedy show and Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton is actually developing it.

Destin Daniel Cretton’s Future in The MCU

Marvel has been working with some serious talents in developing projects for their streaming service Disney+ and it has proven to be a success with WandaVision and Loki. The studio has picked up talent who have been deemed to be rather successful with their works in the Infinity Saga and Phase 4. Amongst them is Destin Daniel Cretton, who is already supposed to be working on numerous properties for the MCU. The Disney+ show they are working on right now might actually be one of Destin’s projects and there is a chance we might know what this show will deal with.

Disney+ MCU Comedy Show

Deadline revealed that the Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director might have been signed on for a multi-year deal for various MCU projects that will also include Disney+ shows. This must include a possible sequel to the Shang-Chi movie which was most recently confirmed to be actually happening. But then Variety followed this update with the revelation that Cretton’s first project for Disney+ will actually be a comedy.

MCU Comedy Show

We did get to witness a lot of comedic aspects in this year’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings with Awkwafina’s Katy’s relationship with Simu Liu. It was rather mature to see the way that they dealt with this narrative even though most other projects would have ended up making them a couple. Plus the movie also repaired the problem with the Mandarin in Iron Man 3 in a rather humorous manner. The upcoming projects might see some rather interesting comedic tones with Kevin Feige saying the same about the upcoming She-Hulk series and the third Deadpool movie that will be a part of the MCU.

We’ve got several other upcoming MCU shows for Disney Plus including Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, She-Hulk, Secret Invasion, Ironheart, I am Groot, Armor Wars, Echo, Wakanda, Loki season 2, What If…? Season 2, Agatha House of Harkness, Werewolf by Night, and Okoye. Which of them are you excited about? Let us know in the comments.
