New Trailer of The Matrix Resurrections Reveals Plenty of New Footage

One of the biggest franchises in the genre of sci-fi is making a major comeback with the upcoming Matrix movie. The very first movie was something that had a massive impact in the world of cinema with the amazing action and mind-bending arc. There was a lot that was expected from the franchise but the later parts failed to live up to the first one. One of the most exciting things about the movie was the character of Neo played by Keanu Reeves. Fans were excited to see that the franchise was getting a revival and there’s not much yet revealed about the narrative except for the reprisals from the original movie. The new trailer of The Matrix Resurrections reveals an interesting amount of details about the movie.

The Matrix Resurrections

Fans have been excited to see what narrative the movie will explore and how it will be established after the events of The Matrix Revolutions. Two of the major characters making a return in the movie include Keanu Reeves’ Neo and Carrie-Anne Moss’ Trinity. While no narrative has yet been given regarding what will be happening in the movie fans have been trying to extract as much as they can from the trailers. But as a very intelligent move, the trailers have been so interesting and exciting that fans are getting major parallels to the past movies in the franchise.

New Trailer of The Matrix Resurrections

A whole new trailer was released for The Matrix Resurrections ahead of its release later this year and it features some rather interesting parallels in the movie. The trailer uses the concept of Deja Vu (which is also the title of the trailer) and draws comparisons from some of the most exciting moments from past movies of the franchise. This also allowed us to see some scenes from the movie that are might reveal some details about the feature.

New Trailer of The Matrix Resurrections

There is footage from this trailer that indicates that we will be seeing Neo in the real world and that includes a particular scene that resembles his awakening in the world through the birthing sequence. Neo appears bald again with the gooey stuff covering him as he appears out of the chamber with tubes around him. This might actually not be a flashback but a reawakening of the character to the truth behind the Matrix.

The trailer also indicates some major action sequences that include Neo and Trinity in the simulated world. This might be a part of the battles they will face against the virus that is present. A past trailer indicated that he was being protected in the real world by the machines and this might be in continuation in the arc of the character from The Matrix Revolutions. The reawakening in the real world might be a part of Neo helping Trinity to get out of the simulation.

A lot of parallels are drawn between the character of Laurence Fishburne’s Morpheus and Yahya Abdul Mateen II’s Morpheus including various action sequences we had seen from the character before.  It also gives us our first look at the character of Lamber Wilson’s The Merovingian who was last seen in The Matrix Revolutions. He was supposed to have been assimilated by Agent Smith but the character is now seen in a rather odd condition with tatters and a lot of facial hair.

Keanu Reeves will be leading the cast again with some of the other characters making a return from the past films. This would include the already mentioned Trinity, as played by Carrie-Anne Moss, along with Jada Pinkett Smith as Niobe, and Daniel Bernhardt as Agent Johnson. The fresh faces include Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, Priyanka Chopra Jones, and Christina Ricci. There were reports that Lana Wachowski had nearly shelved the idea for the movie before finishing it.

The Matrix Resurrections will be released in theaters worldwide and on HBO Max on December 22.
