The Morbius Trailer Probably Suggests Every Sinister Six Member Will Get Their Own Film
Sony Pictures Entertainment just released the complete trailer of Morbius and we can’t get enough of it. By the looks of it, the movie seems awesome. If you haven’t checked the trailer yet, click here! The trailer is filled with easter eggs and we think they point towards something big. Sony Pictures’ Universe of Marvel Characters or SPUMC has grown a lot in recent years and now we think that every Sinister Six member will get their own film.
From the first teaser trailer, we knew that Morbius will be getting a cameo from Michael Keaton. He is known in the Marvel Universe for his role as the infamous Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2016). However, the new trailer confirms that Keaton will reprise his role as Adrian Toomes, aka Vulture. So, it is an obvious attempt from Sony to unite the Sinister Six in their universe.
Marvel has already confirmed that another member of the Sinister Six, Kraven the Hunter, will be getting his stand-alone movie in 2023. Kraven the Hunter will feature Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the titular villain, Sergei Kravinoff. After Venom, Morbius and Kraven get a stand-alone movie, people are excited by the mere fact that their favorite Spider-Man villains exist in a single universe.
THE HINT IN THE TRAILER?!
The line that gave the fans a need for breathing supplements is Michael Keaton’s short dialogue amidst all the craziness of the trailer. He says, to Morbius, “you and I should stay in touch”. Even imagining that more than three members of the Sinister Six exists in the same universe gives us goosebumps. Vulture had a lot of contacts among the criminals and now that he is in prison, he might have met more than one Spider-Man’s villains. Of course, this theory holds only if Keaton’s character is really the Vulture.
OTHER VILLAINS?
The trailer didn’t just hint at a single villain. If you observe, the trailer is filled with little easter eggs that tease the existence of multiple characters from the Spider-Man’s Gallery of Rogues. the newspaper in the opening scene features new headlines that mention Rhino and Black Cat’s criminal actions in the headlines. This could mean that there are more than six villains, roaming the streets of Brooklyn. And in the absence of good old Doc Ock, maybe Vulture acts as a recruiter to bring them together against the web-slinger.
All these facts can change once Spider-Man: No Way Home hits the theatres. It is rumored to change our perspective of the Marvel Universe. So, plans for uniting the Sinister Six could change hugely if the multiversal rules set by NWH vary from the comics. Maybe we should wait to speculate more before we see the cinematic version of the vast multiverse.
