MCU: Phastos Could Replace Tony Stark In The Avengers

MCU’s Eternals was released almost a couple of weeks ago and became a big hit immediately. The movie introduced us to a new Engineer who had existed for a long time and played a huge role in our evolution. This tech genius, Phastos, helped create agricultural, mining, and construction tools, and laid the foundation of the first cities. And we think that Phastos could replace Tony Stark as MCU’s next big inventor.

MCU’s Eternals introduced us to a team of ten immortal humanoids, sent by the Celestials, themselves. Every one of the Eternals was unique and had its own set of skills. And they had orders to use these powers to protect the humble humans from the evil Deviants. Phastos was the team technopath and invented gadgets that could be used in destroying the Deviants.

Tony stark had been the tech pioneer since the start of the MCU. In fact, he defeated the first and the last villain of the Infinity Saga, starting from the Iron Monger and ending with Mysterio (after all, it was Tony whose tech Peter was using). And after his tragic death in Avengers: Endgame, the world no longer had the man who could invent his way around the villains. However, now as MCU expands its scope, we find that there was an even bigger genius living amongst us. Phastos can not only be Tony’s replacement but he can be a better inventor than Tony ever was.

WHAT MAKES PHASTOS THE MCU’S NEXT BIG TECH GURU?

Phastos Could Replace Tony Stark

Phastos arrived on Earth, along with his fellow Eternals, around 7000 years ago. Since then, he has worked his butt off to boost the evolution of humans with cutting-edge tech-loaded machines. Sometimes, he created machines so advanced that Ajak had to interrupt him from introducing this to humans as it would have been very advanced for their time. The movie revealed that Phastos revolutionized the art of agriculture by inventing the simplest tool, the Plough. And in the advancing years, he taught the men to create cities with the help of machines that he had built for them.

Phastos can create anything out of absolutely anything. His powers come from the Celestials, which make him the biggest brain in the team. According to the movie, his ideas led to the evolution of men. However, not all of his ideas led to the betterment of human beings. After all, it was the Uni-Mind, his creation, that saved the human race from perishing forever.

The movie revealed that Phastos had retired from inventing after one of his ideas inspired the humans to make the very first nuclear bomb. The movie featured a scene with Phastos was on top of the rubble that was the city of Hiroshima. He even exiled himself as a punishment for what he believed was his biggest crime. He was leading a very quiet life with his son and husband when the Eternals arrived in his house and pulled him out of the shadows.

Now that Phastos has finally got his hero-hair back, maybe he will join the MCU mainstream (even the Avengers!). He might team up with the other characters and help them protect the Earth with his amazing inventions, just like Tony did. However, he is currently with Arishem as he conspired to kill a newborn Celestial. But after what we saw in the post-credits scene, maybe the remaining Eternals will help the Earth’s Eternals in getting Phastos, Kingo and Sersi, back from the clutches of the Celestials.
