Eternals introduced a vast new world of endless possibilities and whole new characters to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fans would remember that everyone was trying to analyze the trailers and every promo clip in order to get every possible detail. There was hardly any idea regarding how these characters would be introduced in the MCU with their godlike personas But as it seems that there were various moments front the trailers that were not actually present in the movie. This could mean that either they were cut or these scenes were specifically picked for certain shots in the trailer. Let’s take a look at all the deleted scenes from Eternals trailers that were not in the movie.
Thena’s Training Scene In Babylon
It appears that this particular scene would appear at the point when the Eternals were in Babylon. That does take place quite early in the movie but this moment is completely absent from the movie. Based on the trailer we see Thena spin and arc her translucent golden polearm in a wait that clearly gives us a fear idea about her martial arts mastery. As she gets finished we see the curtain-like clothes that fall off or are drifted away by the wind which reveals the courtyard around her.
This scene actually includes a really massive Captain America reference as we see a soldier standing near Thena wielding a shield that has a design much similar to Cap’s shield. This could have been a clear indication of the idea that the Eternals might have had some influence on the design for Cap’s shield. The scene also gives us a rather calmer look at Thena which is in massive difference to what happens to her later as she succumbs to Mahd Wy’ry.
Sersi & Ikaris Looking At Earth
As we see the Eternals shit Domo pull into the Earth’s orbit, the new awakened Ikaris and Sersi look towards the planet. Then Ikaris introduces himself and they both compliment the beauty of the planet. The movie shows this scene on a much massive scale as they both set their eyes on the planet as a whole. This is not similar to how this moment is depicted in the trailer as we witness both of them looking at only a patch of land. The theatrical cut might be indicating that the world as a whole is beautiful rather than a certain specific part of it.
Sprite Singing Karaoke In Kingo’s Private Jet
When Sersi, Ikaris, and Sprite discover that Ajak has been killed, they head to recruit Kingo so that they can hunt down the Deviant who might have been behind the murder. They actually succeed in doing that and Kingo joins in with them along with his trusted valet Karun. As they head for Gilgamesh and Thena, who is in Australia, in Kingo’s private jet. We get to see a moment where Kingo and Sprite confront each other and talk about the former abandoning the latter many years ago.
The trailer includes a scene where we see Sprite belting out a song as a range of light falls on her face which might be indicative of it being a karaoke. This could have been a very weird moment as the moment looks rather over the top from her character. This clearly could be indicative of why the scene was cut as it showed a completely different version of Sprite. But this scene from the trailer actually gave us a look at another Captain America reference with his old shield being present in the scene.
Ikaris Talks About Leading The Avengers And The Eternals Start Laughing
As one of the more heartfelt moments from the movie, we see Gilgamesh provide the other Eternals with a feast. During the meal, Ikaris mentions that he might be a suitable candidate to lead the Avengers now that Tony Stark and Steve Rogers were gone. This is met with quite a supportive response and Kingo even goes ahead to show his enthusiasm for the idea. The trailer shows the scene in a much different way as we see Ikaris meeting with quiet laughter from the people around him. Cutting the scene might have been a means to indicate the support Kingo has for Ikaris’ leadership.
The Intimate Moment Between Sersi & Ikaris
Ikaris and Sersi show one of the longest relationships in the movie as they were together for around 5,000 years which is not much less than the 7,000 years they have spent on Earth. The couple was even married in the presence of the other Eternals. A particular scene from the trailer shows Sersi and Ikaris sharing a rather intimate moment in the modern days. This could not have worked for the movie considering we had clearly seen that Sersi was in love with Dane Whitman.
