14 Actors With On Set Feuds That Almost Killed Their Movies

Some of the major cinematic projects have some rather interesting stories behind their production and some of these included feuds. Feuds between two acting talents have been the story of Hollywood for quite a long time now with major talents battling out their egos. Sometimes this is quite apparent in the movie but other times they have been able to keep their feud away from the final project. Often these stars won’t even want to be on the set at the same time and this has caused some major issues and delays in the production. Let’s take a look at some of the most actors with on set feuds.

Harrison Ford & Sean Young

The duo appeared as love interests in the 1982 cyberpunk classic Blade Runner but apparently when the cameras stopped they couldn’t stand each other.

Jennifer Aniston & Jay Mohr

Jennifer Aniston had already developed some anger against Jay Mohr when the latter beat out her then-boyfriend Tate Donovan for the casting in 1997’s Picture Perfect and according to Mohr the anger became more visible during the shooting of the film.

Dustin Hoffman & Meryl Streep

Meryl Streep has reported that it wasn’t easy working with Dustin Hoffman on the sets of Kramer vs. Kramer as the latter lashed out at her for requesting changes in a particular scene.

Marlon Brando & Sophia Loren

Sophia Loren mentioned in her memoir, Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow: My Life, that it became uncomfortable for the actress as Marlon Brando had groped her on the sets of the romantic comedy A Countess From Hong Kong.

Robert De Niro & Mickey Rourke

Robert De Niro, known for going method into his roles, became a problem for Mickey Rourke on the sets of the horror-thriller Angel Heart when the actors had a battle of wits which led to Mickey Rourke losing respect for the actor he once admired.

Sylvester Stallone & Richard Gere

Sylvester Stallone and Richard Gere didn’t get along with each other for The Lords of the Flatbush and this eventually led to Gere not appearing in the finished film.

Bill Paxton & Helen Hunt

Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton didn’t seem to be really excited to work with each other again following their collaboration in the 1996 film Twister.

Emma Watson & Channing Tatum

Emma Watson didn’t like Channing Tatum’s performance in This Is the End and left the set after shooting her scenes for a few minutes while stating that the actor was being “too raunchy”.

Ryan Gosling & Rachel McAdams

It would be quite surprising to hear that the stars of The Notebook didn’t get along at all during the shooting of the movie and would quite often end up screaming and yelling at each other.

Nick Nolte & Julia Roberts

It seems that Julia Roberts and Nick Nolte weren’t able to utilize their on-set conflict as a motivation for their work in the 1994 film I Love Trouble.

Alec Baldwin & Shia LaBeouf

Alec Baldwin and Shia LaBeouf are both quite popular for their behavior and it is not surprising that they didn’t get along and LaBeouf had to leave the production for the 2013 Broadway show Orphans.

Wesley Snipes & The Rest Of The Cast

Wesley Snipes became quite arrogant during the making of Blade 3 and ended up feuding with everyone on set, including the director, and this is quite apparent in the end product we got to see.
