Why No Way Home Is The Longest Spider-Man Movie In MCU?

Spider-Man: No Way Home is slowly becoming one of the most anticipated movies from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With the absolute will theories that are making the rounds all around, there’s no wonder this would have happened. With the release of the teaser, the number of details that have now been confirmed on the basis of fan theories is increasing the excitement for the movie. The trailer already broke records with the most views in the first 24 hours of the release of a trailer. It seems like this sequel also is gonna break the runtime record. It will be the Longest Spider-Man Movie till now.

Story So Far

Spider-Man: Far From Home had a cliffhanger that only heightened the anticipation for the next movie in the series. None of the other movies that came after gave any hints towards the possibility of what could happen in Spider-Man’s narrative. With the rumors surrounding the fact that there could be a possible unison between the previous renditions of Spider-Man. There was a lot of debate regarding how a single movie would be able to handle so many characters. Taking into consideration the idea of so many characters coming together in a solo venture the debate makes sense.

The Run-Time

Longest Spider-Man Movie

Recently the film’s run-time was revealed on the basis of a UK theater’s ticket listing is as 150 minutes long. Now, this doesn’t confirm its run time, but the past listings of the same UK theater’s runtimes suggest that the film will surely be around 150 minutes long. So that makes it the longest Marvel Cinematic Universe Spider-Man movie to date. In fact, No Way Home will be the longest Spidey movie to date! Spider-Man: Homecoming, the first solo venture for Spider-Man for MCU clocked in at 133 minutes. The sequel to that, Spider-Man: Far From Home was 129 minutes long. It is kinda surprising if you consider the number of characters that made an appearance in the movie. Even though this reveal cannot be entirely confirmed but there is a possibility of this being true. This is because of the massive cast of characters appearing in the movie.

Why So Long?

No Way Home will deal with Peter’s identity crisis which is just the icing on the cake. The rest of the plot is absolute chaos and probably one of the wildest storylines in Marvel Cinematic Universe history. The movie will set up the development of the multiverse in the MCU. Taking into consideration the hints of the multiverse has already been hinted in the events of the Disney Plus series Loki. This movie could be one of the largest cinematic events following the Infinity saga in the MCU.

Longest Spider-Man Movie

With characters from the past Spider-Man movies making appearances as both friends and foes. Alfred Molina will be returning as Doctor Octopus, Willem Dafoe as the Green Goblin, and Jamie Foxx as Electro. Added to that there is a possibility that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will be making appearances too. With so many characters in the bag, there is no way they will be given some cameo appearance. Considering the fan following these characters have had the movie will probably giving them some justified role in the movie.

Future Of The MCU

At the same time, No Way Home will also likely set the stage for future Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. One of these movies will be the sequel to the Doctor Strange movie, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Some of the characters that will be appearing in the movie might also set up their own universes considering this movie could be the bridge between the Sony Spiderverse and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

One of the biggest parts of any Spider-Man movie is the journey that Spider-Man goes through. This being such a massive crossover we can clearly wonder about the possibility of all these things balancing out in the plot of the solo venture. It is quite obvious how this could end up being the longest Spider-Man movie to date.
