In the upcoming days, we are going to see a lot of reboots and sequels. This year and the next are gonna be filled with some of these cinematic experiences. Some of the best franchises are making a massive comeback. Warner Bros. is one such studio that is going to have a lot of releases with some of the most major projects. Amongst these projects is the fourth film in the Matrix series. Fans are wondering what they will see in this feature as the major characters returning for their roles had died in the last film. Warner Bros. just increased the excitement for the movie by releasing the first teaser for Matrix 4 before the official trailer release on Thursday.
Matrix Movies
Matrix is one of the most major cinematic events we might have ever experienced. It is responsible for a lot of changes in how films were made after this movie and how action sequences were dealt with. The concept of the movie was also something that was never dealt with before. The sequences were inspired by the Japanese Anime movies and shows while paying tribute to these sources.
The Exciting Tease
While the official trailer for the movie wasn’t released yet, the studio released a fun way of teasing the trailer for the fans. This was a very innovative method for a movie like The Matrix Resurrections. If fans head over to WhatIsTheMatrix.com, they will be greeted with choices similar to the choices given to Neo in the 1999’s The Matrix. Which goes like this: Click on the blue pill, and stick to the reality you’ve known your whole life; click on the red pill, and signal that you’re ready to see how deep the rabbit hole goes.
First Teaser for Matrix 4
This choice could be something that is also given to Keanu Reeves’s Neo in the movie. According to the trailer that was shown at the CinemaCon, Neo is back in the Matrix taking the blue pill and he sees a therapist played by Neil Patric Harris. Another man played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II steps in and gets him to realize that his reality is just a mirage.
Similar to this when the users click on the blue pill, they can hear a voice by Neil Patrick Harris’s character. He says, “you’ve lost your capability to discern reality from fiction.” “anything else is just your mind playing tricks on you,” he adds before urging the user to accept their reality as the time current time flashes on the screen.
On the other hand, when the users click on the red pill they can hear Yahya Abdul-Mateen’s voice. He makes us realize that even though we believe that that’s the current time but “that couldn’t be further from the truth.” Both these choices give us a very quick glance into the movie with flashes of quick-shots from the movie as “Resurrections” also keeps flashing on the screen. Every time the user clicks on one of the pills this shot changes slightly.
Shots From The Teaser
Some of the fans have been able to collect these shots together and compile them into a full teaser. One of these shots shows Neo swallowing a blue pill as a much older and bald man appears in his reflection. Another shot includes Yahya Abdul-Mateen’s character staring at himself in the mirror which is covered with precipitation. We also get to see Jonathan Groff who lips seem to be undergoing the same reaction that Neo had when he was being interrogated in the 1999 film. Carrie-Anne Moss who will be returning in her role as Trinity is also seen sitting alone in a chair while a couple of soldiers slowly move in on her.
The Matrix Resurrections will see Lana Wachowski, one of the Wachowski due, return to direct the sequel. It stars Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Neil Patrick Harris, Jonathan Groff, Priyanka Chopra, and Yahya Abdul Mateen II. The Matrix Resurrections will be released on 22 December.
