The Marvel Cinematic Universe has expanded to unprecedented levels. We have seen an uptick in a new kind of storytelling ever since the timeline has been freed. He Who Remains warned us that his death would result in an infinite number of him flooding the citadel at the end of time and re-establishing the TVA. But we did not listen. Now the release of the timeline has caused numerous variations and that is what What If…? is really about. In the latest episode of the series, we saw Killmonger take over Wakanda in a seemingly foolproof plan. But at the end of the episode, we were shown the start of the secret plan of Shuri to liberate Wakanda.
The young genius comes face to face with Pepper Potts and showed her the truth behind Killmonger. Both women came to the conclusion that Killmonger is the villain and both sides cannot see the truth of it. So the women decide that they must take matters into their own hands and start discussing strategy. The episode cuts to black before anything is revealed about the plan of Shuri and Potts.
But we have an inclination as to what the plan might entail with regards to Shuri’s thinking. One major thing that we missed in the episode was that the Iron Man armor was never created in this universe. Part of the reason for this was that Tony Stark was never captured by the 10 rings. This also means that he was not forced to create armor for himself to escape from captivity. Moreover, the lack of an iron man trickled over to S.H.I.E.L.D. having no interest in the movements of Killmonger.
The lack of oversight enabled the villain to takeover Wakanda unhindered with his foresight. He was easily able to overpower T’challa with the Sonic Taser stolen from Stark and killed both him and Rhodey. When Tony discovered his ploy and let the Liberator lose, Killmonger freestyled and defeated the drone with ease. This allowed him to kill Tony Stark and take over Stark Industries.
The organization was soon acquired by the military when they went to war with Wakanda. This meant that the heroes were killed off by the ill-meaning villain and no one was the wiser. As the episode progressed we saw Killmonger take a more sinister role in his efforts to take over his home country. He even succeeded in doing so by destroying the very army he had let loose on his homeland.
Killmonger’s plan was foolproof and the only people who could stop him were put to rest with his own hands. The only one that Killmonger could not account for was Shuri. In her own words, ” Stark was a genius but he was not the only genius.” The little princess figured out the reason for Killmonger’s actions and took it to Pepper.
They discuss a plan that the audience is not made aware of but we believe it involves Shuri developing some kind of weapon to combat Killmonger. The most likely scenario for the creation of this weapon is if Shuri uses the vibranium to make her own iron man suit. We know it sounds absurd, but hear us out for a second.
Secret Plan of Shuri
The next addition in Marvel Cinematic Universe is going to be Shuri’s Black Panther and Riri Williams’ Ironheart. We believe that this What If…? episode hinted at the possibility of combining both of these heroes. It is theorized that Shuri will use Vibranium and her technical skill along with the equipment of Stark Industries to create an Iron Man Suit for herself.
Think about it, she needs resources, why else would she end up in New York when she lives in one of the most technologically advanced countries in the world. It would be incredibly easy for Shuri to create a weapon of mass destruction capable of taking down the black panther if she starts at Stark Industries. The heroine will have all the resources of Potts behind her and the entire world to oppose her, including her own father. It is not an easy decision to make to take down the person who has presumably saved your home. But it is a decision only someone as strong as Shuri can make.
