New Shang-Chi Trailer Shows Powers of the Ten Rings & Shang-Chi

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is going to bombard the MCU with new characters and a strong storyline. Marvel fans are particularly excited to see Simu Lui as the lead. But we will also get to see the real Mandarin. So far, we have seen few posters and a trailer. Now, it’s time for the latest trailer that has shown more powers of the Ten Rings. But it also might have explained how powerful Shang-Chi is if compared to our fellow Avengers. All this might be useful to gauge his potential in the MCU. Take a look:

Shang-Chi Trailer Shows Powers of the Ten Rings

Shang-Chi is releasing in two months from now. Usually, Marvel dials up the promotion when a project is this close, which is exactly the case here. The newest trailer shows an epic fight between Shang-Chi and his father Mandarin. Previously, we saw the return of Abomination and possibly Wong. All of it was combined in a tournament where the participants might be fighting for the Ten Rings. Check out the new trailer for Shang-Chi below:

The trailer focuses a bit on Shang-Chi’s relationship with Awkwafina’s Katy. We could see a sequence of Shang-Chi in the tournament before all the fighting. Just like the previous trailer, this trailer also highlights the tense relationship between father and son. Mandarin is all about passing on the torch to his son, but Shang-Chi is clearly in no mood.

Powers of the Ten Rings

Shang-Chi‘s newest trailer comes with some new fighting sequences. Shang-Chi’s fight with Razor Fist in the city streets can be seen. The hero ultimately kicks Razor Fist off as the bus splits in half. But still, the real focus remains on the climax battle between Shang-Chi and Mandarin. We got to see The Great Protector once again with no additional shots. And this time, the Ten Rings were more in play as we saw Shang-Chi and Mandarin both use their Ten Rings.

Shang-Chi’s Power Level As An Avenger

The new trailer finally shows an epic superhero landing. But the way Shang-Chi sort of struggled against a threat like Razor Fist does not make him Avenger-worthy. This might put his journey in the MCU into question. Considering how heavily the bus sequence has been featured in the marketing of the movie, Shang-Chi’s abilities are somewhat in a mix right now.

Powers of the Ten Rings

Yet of course, his transformation by the end of the movie will be something legendary. With martial arts in play, Shang-Chi will evolve in terms of powers and a superhero. So maybe in the initial part of the movie, he would be enjoying his normal life as a valet. But by the end, he would have his Ten Rings and a fighter who’s not to be messed with. Just like Captain America, Doctor Strange, and others, Shang-Chi will get a massive power upgrade as well. That will make him a worthy candidate for the Avengers. So this journey is something that is enticing the fans.

Shang-Chi As A Superhero

Going back to the comics, Shang-Chi is a master of Kung Fu. And when we saw Simu Liu in the lead, it instantly felt like he did justice to this very aspect. When his natural abilities will be mixed with the powers of the Ten Rings, Shang-Chi will transcend to a whole new level. A shot from the trailer reveals Shang-Chi wielding five of the Ten Rings, which lets him fly through the air.

Shang-Chi, without a doubt, is a great fighter. This is something that we saw during the clips of the tournament. But now it seems that by the end of the movie, Shang-Chi will end up wielding all the Ten Rings, placing him right at the level of the Avengers. Liu’s character has natural abilities, similar to Wanda, Spider-Man, and Thor. He’s not a result of an experiment like Steve Rogers and doesn’t depend on technology like Iron Man, Falcon, or Ant-Man.

So when it comes to the Avengers, Shang-Chi would naturally also make a great addition considering his combat prowess. Of course, the Ten Rings will give him superhuman abilities. But if Cap asks him what he is without his Rings, he can give him a pretty hard time. With or without the RIngs, Shang-Chi is a threat. So it’s a good thing that he is one of the good guys and would probably be even a great addition to the Avengers.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will arrive on September 3, 2021.
