The Renaissance Fair in Loki Episode 2 Could Hint At The Big Secret Of TVA

Loki episode 2 “The Variant” landed on Disney+ and is upping its game of the show. Not too deep in the show and we have already got to see Lady Loki and the entire TVA in pure turmoil. The Sacred Timeline has been bombed by Lady Loki. So this brings us directly to the Time Keepers. Ever since the beginning, they have been kept in complete hiding. But episode 2 might just bring us closer to the big secret of TVA. From where I stand after just two episodes, nothing seems true to me. Moreover, the Renaissance Fair in Oshkosh, Wisconsin in the year 1985 only supports my claim.

Loki Episode 2 Reveals TVA Is Not Really Old

The Big Secret Of TVA

Loki episode 2 involved a crime that took place at a Renaissance fair in Oshkosh, Wisconsin in the year 1985. However, the TVA didn’t spend much time at this point in history. The only reason why there ended up here is because of the evil variant of Loki. The variant once again caused an incident that left dead Minutemen as we saw before. But this, the variant kidnapped Hunter C-20. This sent the TVA into a frenzy, hence allowing Loki to go on his first field mission.

The Renaissance fair was featured in several trailers. So, we all naturally assumed that it might be a crucial part of the show. Even though we only saw it for a few minutes, some major details are here to stay. As we noticed, all the people involved in the fair were dressed in the 14th- to 17th-century. But, there’s something odd about seeing them in old-fashioned clothes, but holding red cups for beers? Plus, I just couldn’t ignore the contemporary song “I Need A Hero” playing in one of their tents. So, all this points to the fact that the TVA gives its maximum efforts to give us an old-school vibe.

TVA Is A Front For A Bigger Operation

The biggest red flag in my opinion is the TVA office. Director Herron has explained that she made the TVA office look old to complement the bureaucracy. But what if we connect these above-mentioned dots? All of it checks out with its aesthetic and general vibe; it looks and feels old, which is emphasized by its outdated-looking office and retro technology. I mean, the greatest power in the world is still using and deliberately slowing down the process? Something just doesn’t make proper sense.

The Big Secret Of TVA

Okay, coming back to the God of Mischief. Just like him, we were also gaping in awe when we saw the Infinity Stones lying around in a junk drawer? But Loki still has his doubts about the three space lizards. Moreover, this was amplified about Lady Loki. She was nowhere interested in the operations of the TVA, but the Time Keepers. She deliberately kidnapped Hunter C-20 to know the locations of the creators of the Sacred Timeline.

The Big Secret Of TVA. Is It Based On A Big Lie?

As of now, Mobius is a very important part of the TVA. He has worked there for years and been on countless missions. But he still doesn’t know the truth about the Time Keepers. All the time Loki has questioned about these Time Keepers, Agent Mobius was never able to give a concrete answer. The animosity surrounding these three Gods is impeccable. Moreover, his conversation with Judge Renslayer too wasn’t that informative.

So, is the TVA built on a great lie? if yes, then all the minutemen are working for a cause that they aren’t aware of. Their prominent goal is to protect the Sacred Timeline, but now, all that seems fable. Everyone working in the TVA is just operating by faith that their work is for a bigger purpose. So, maybe making it look old and rusty helps to prevent a facade. Moreover, Marvel really likes to expand on little details, such as the ones in the Renaissance fair in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

The TVA is surely hiding something and the coming episodes of the show will surely unravel the big secret of TVA. Loki stars Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Owen Wilson as Mobius M. Mobius, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ravonna Lexus Renslayer, Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15, and Sophia Di Martino, Richard E. Grant, Sasha Lane, and Eugene Cordero in undisclosed roles. The series premieres on June 9 on Disney+.
