Lucifer Season 6: Here’s What We Should Expect From the Almighty

Lucifer is one of Netflix’s biggest series and it has totally delivered with the 5th season as well. Tom Ellis graced this Netflix series and the role of Lucifer with his devilish acting skills. In fact, the overall casting is on point. The series initially premiered on Fox but ended up becoming a hit on Netflix not soon after. With such increasing popularity, the showrunners have given us a hint as to what to expect from Lucifer Season 6.

WARNING: Spoilers For Lucifer Season 5B

Here’s What Lucifer Season 6 Can Provide

The second half of Lucifer‘s fifth season dropped on Friday. It ended with a cliffhanger as Lucifer became the new God of the Universe. It set up the sixth season perfectly. Therefore, series showrunners Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich are teasing something major and important for Lucifer‘s sixth season. They stated that there will be a bit of a time jump between the two seasons and they have teased that Season 6 will be a more “intimate story”.

Modrovich told Variety:

Every season we’ve tried to explore a new problem for Lucifer, a new chapter, a giant step for him to take emotionally. When we were offered, generously, Season 6, we found one story, one final chapter that we realized we had to explore. And that does have consequences and effects to Lucifer and Chloe. We’ve all been there. Once you’re in a relationship, it’s not like once you, let’s say, get married, then that’s it — happily ever after! There are things thrown at you and obstacles and things you have to go through, which affect your relationships as well.

This goes on to prove that Lucifer Season 6 will focus more on Lucifer Morningstar’s relationship with Chloe. Considering that this is their last season and the showrunners have found “one final chapter that we realized we had to explore,” we can expect them to go all-out with the story. A series so promising shall not end with a lightweight finale season.

Story Till Now In Season 5B & How It Connects To Season 6

It’s simple, Lucifer’s character development is now heavily in play. He ended up taking his father’s (Dennis Haysbert) position as God because he retired and moved on to Goddess’ (Tricia Helfer) universe. But of course, he first had to deal with his brother Michael (Ellis himself) who wanted the position too. He now has new and increased responsibilities with more powers. But that is not it. He has finally told Chloe (Lauren German) that he loves her. So, it will be interesting to see how God Luci will cope up with his responsibilities of running the Universe and maintaining his relationship with Detective Decker.

Another major surprise in Season 5B was Dan Espinoza’s (Kevin Alejandro) death. He is definitely a central character and has been important to the show. But Henderson and Modrovich tease that Dan’s story isn’t quite over yet. Henderson said:

That sounds like a journey. I think I can say safely Dan Espinoza is one of our favorite characters to torture, and getting a chance to do it for a little bit longer has been a delight.”

Dan may be dead, but we might see him in hell. Season 6 could show us how Dan makes his way from hell to heaven, by facing his hell-loop.

The complete fifth season of Lucifer is now streaming on Netflix. The final season should arrive next year. Are you excited about Lucifer Season 6? What did you like about Season 5? Let us know in the comments.
