All Other Variants the TVA Could Have Pruned From The Multiverse

The Disney+ series Loki is anything but basic. So far, we have been introduced to the TVA and the Time-Keepers. And it has been established that they are the strongest force in all of the Universe. Moreover, they have the Infinity Stones lying around in a junk drawer, hence discarding the past 11 years of all MCU. So currently, that makes them the strongest in all of MCU so far. Moreover, the TVA’s only job is to protect the Sacred Timeline that the Time-Keepers have created. But in order to that, they need to prevent any events or variants that might be a threat to them. So, let’s talk about all the variants that the TVA could have pruned so far.

Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange has indefinitely made his place in the MCU as the Sorcerer Supreme, which was mentioned by the Ancient One. In Infinity War, Doctor Strange used the Time Stone to forsee 14,000,605 possibilities. Out of all those possibilities, there was only one scenario in which the Avengers won. It was mentioned in Loki that the Time-Keepers wrote the Avengers destiny in order to prevent the Sacred Timeline.

It’s a possibility that Strange is not aware of the TVA or they even operate. So this brings us to the explanation that the TVA might have pruned the 14,000,604 Doctor Strange variants who failed to beat Thanos. Strange’s job was to lead the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in the right direction, and the variants that failed to do so were simply pruned. The TVA might have also pruned every variant of Doctor Strange that didn’t meet their fate.

Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch

WandaVision‘s commercials hinted at Wanda’s subconscious and her being a Nexus being. On the other hand, Loki has stated that Nexus events are a threat to the Sacred Timeline. So according to WandaVision, her “Hex” may have been a Nexus event that could actually prove dangerous to the Sacred Timeline. So, it’s safe to assume that the TVA may have pruned every less powerful version of Wanda.

Wanda’s pocket reality was able to manipulate people and control them like puppets. Moreover, she was able to create life out of thin air. Now, this is something that the Time-Keepers do not want in their life. Plus, we also theorized that the Time-Keepers are afraid of the Scarlet Witch, and her kids as well. A Nexus being is able to manipulate the Sacred Timeline and too strong to challenge the Time-Keepers as well.

Spider-Man

Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man, and his alternate versions are no stranger to the MCU fans. Throughout his run in the comics, he is a Marvel character with the most famous alternate-reality versions of himself. We are not aware of how the multiverse will affect Spidey in Spider-Man: No Way Home, but it’s a possibility that the TVA may have pruned Spider-people out of the space-time continuum.

In Loki, Mobius has explained that different variants of a person have several different abilities. Now, considering Spider-Man and his alternates such as Spider-Hulk and Spider-Ham, he can easily be a target of the TVA. We already got to see many versions of Spidey in the famous Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse animated movie.

Thanos

As I mentioned earlier, Strange foresaw 14,000,605 possibilities in which the Avengers won only one. On the flip side, the Time-Keepers wanted the Avengers to win. So, any version of Thanos that ultimately defeated the Avengers obviously did not fit with the Time-Keepers plan. As a result, his other variants could have been easily pruned as well.

I mean, imagining Thanos dealing with the red-tapism of the TVA would be a treat to watch. Picture him dealing with the TVA agents, being forced to get a ticket, and signing every word that he’s ever said, is a big comedy for me at least! Anyway, the TVA could have pruned every other variant of the Thanos in order for the TVA to prevent the Sacred Timeline. It seems like I’m reaching, but it actually makes sense.

Kang The Conqueror

Kang the Conqueror is all set to be the villain in Ant-Man 3. But does he connect with Loki in any way? In the comics, the Time Keepers named Ast, Vort, and Zanth are creations of “He Who Remains.” Now, this guy is the final TVA agent left at the end of time. So, he created the Time Keepers to pass on his lessons to the next universal cycle. Moreover, he had a romantic relationship with Judge Renslayer.

So if the TVA is actually created by him, then it makes sense that he would obliterate every other Kang variant that did not follow in his footsteps. This could directly hint at Iron Lad, who eventually goes on to become a member of the Young Avengers. Kang, the time-traveling maniac, would go to any length to preserve his exploit and remove anyone who stands in his way.

Dormammu And Nightmare

The reason why I’m putting them under the same umbrella is that they both live in a separate dimension. Well, for starters they’re both mystical entities. Moreover, they’re both Strange’s nemesis who will, by any means, operate on their own rules. Well, Loki has thus far not mentioned if the Dark Dimension and the Dream Dimension fall under the TVA’s jurisdiction. But if the TVA oversees every dimension, then they both have their own variants and the TVA must have taken care of them as well.

America Chavez

America Chavez is all set to make her debut in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Well, in the comics, she comes from the Utopian Parallel, which is a reality outside time. But in the Doctor Strange sequel, she is predicted to come in the latter part of the movie, possibly during a crisis. Now, this lowers the possibility of her having rogue variants running recklessly across the Sacred Timeline.

But that does not mean that her variants, if any, are not in a stiff relationship with the TVA. Need I remind you, the TVA cannot ignore any possible threat to the Sacred Timeline. Maybe in a certain time frame, her variant could have crossed paths with the TVA. Now that is possible because of her star-shaped interdimensional portals.

Mephisto

Ah, here comes the topic of discussion in the MCU since January. Well, don’t mind me bringing his name here. But no theory is complete without the iteration of the devil himself. Ever since WandaVision premiered in January, Mephisto has bothered us greatly. His abilities, moreover, allow him to alter reality and possibly interact with different universes. So, why shouldn’t I consider the possibility of him being a trouble for the TVA?

In the comics, Mephisto is currently working with a council of 616 of his other-selves. So, he definitely has his variants operating somewhere deep in the Marvel Universe. As and when this Devil-like figure makes his MCU debut, he could possibly reveal that the TVA somehow managed to prune the variants who were weak. But in all honesty, we need Mephisto now!
