MCU Theory: The Power Broker Has Ties With The Mandarin

Power Broker could go a long way in the MCU!

WARNING: SPOILERS FOR THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER EPISODE 6 “ONE WORLD, ONE PEOPLE”

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier has established new stories. These plots will surely be explored in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Be it in the form of series or movies, I believe that the MCU has successful expanded in its Phase 4. We have finally found our new Captain America. No, it is not John Walker. He is rather someone else who is prominent in the comics. Bucky finally got his closure with his alter ego – Winter Soldier. The Flag-Smashers were unable to achieve their ultimate goal, but only for now. It was also revealed that Zemo is still very much involved in the series and maybe even in the possible sequel. And of course, let’s not forget to welcome our new Captain America – Sam Wilson. He definitely made Isaiah Bradley proud and recognized.

I’m glad that the series did not forget about Sharon Carter. She was nowhere to be seen after the events of Captain America: Civil War. But it is laid on the ground that Sharon was after all the main player in all this drama. She, as most of us had predicted, is the real Power Broker. She is the one to hold great influence all of Madripoor. The power and position of the Power Broker was set right when even Zemo said that he has only heard of the person and knows ‘him’ by his reputation. Sharon had the perfect cover all this time. Batroc was working for her and was assigned to spy on Karli.

As I was expecting, the post-credit scene featured Sharon. She was no more a fugitive and had been granted a full pardon by the government, thanks to Sam Wilson. To top it all of, she even got her old position at the CIA back. So here we are, finding ourselves in front of a major twist. The Power Broker has infiltrated the CIA. Before the post-credit scene ends, she can be seen talking to someone on call. She says. “We’re going to have full access to government secrets, Prototype Weapons, you name it.” Now, we know that she has bigger plans to carry out even without her super-soldiers. But who is she talking to?

I guess I have substantial proofs to support a theory of mine. Let’s talk about the Power Broker’s empire for a second. It exists in Madripoor. Power Broker is seen as a godly figure in the city, with graffiti on the wall saying, “Power-Broker is watching.” Until now, it was believed that this entity is a man. But Sharon had prepared that as a cover. She is in control of the entire city, and of course, it is for me to believe that she has more than a dozen criminal connections.

Marvel’s recent marketing stint has been Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. With epic trailers and visually captivating first-look images, the production house has set the movie out on an adventure. It follows Shang-Chi, denying his father’s legacy (the real Mandarin), and possibly fighting against all odds, including the Ten Rings terrorist organization. The thing I’m most excited about is the welcoming of a new hero. Shang-Chi’s backstory is never been spoken of. But on the contrary, Mandarin and his Ten Rings have been in the MCU since 2008, first coming in Iron Man.

My theory suggests that Sharon, in the post-credit scene of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, was talking about buyers like the Mandarin and his Ten Rings Organization. It may sound a little far-fetched, but the trailer for Shang-Chi has placed the titular hero in Madripoor. In a scene where the trailer focuses on Shang-Chi fighting in a cage match, we can see a symbol involving a crescent moon and a star in the back. This is the flag of Madripoor. This leads me to think that the Ten Rings have a presence in Madripoor. The movie is most likely set after the events of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. If I’m right, then there’s a chance that the Mandarin could buy weapons from the Power Broker in the future.

If this seems a little far-fetched, then I have something else for you. The trailer introduced a masked villain, who is the Death Dealer. He’s shown as Shang-Chi’s mentor in his early days till teenage years. But that quickly changes as we see them fighting. The Death Dealer jumps out of a helicopter, and the showdown begins. The setting behind is a clear hint to the city of Madripoor. Twitter user @obeyo1 compared the outlining of the city from the ones in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. With little to no surprise to my theory, they match.

Check out the tweet below:

Such uncanny resemblance to Madripoor proves that Sharon could be very much dealing with the Mandarin. Considering how much Marvel likes to keep its connectivity intact, we can expect this. I think Sharon, the Power-Broker is going to be Mandarin’s ally in a big conspiracy. This particular plot could dwell into the sequel of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. She could even connect with other villains like Kingpin, the Leader, and villainous organizations like Leviathan or even AIM. Agent Carter is back and is powerful, now more than ever.
