When and How Can We Expect a Hulk Solo Film Now?
One thing which fans have always demanded from MCU was a Hulk solo film. After, MCU delivered arguably the best version of Spider-Man till date fans wanted more. Hulk, has so many interesting storylines in the comics and they can be brought to justice by MCU. If you didn’t know, the rights for Hulk were with Universal Pictures and now Marvel has reportedly bought them back.
A fan site MCU Cosmic has indicated that not only the rights to Hulk but Namor have also come back to Marvel Studios. Going into Phase 4 and phase 5 Namor is expected to play a big role. The entry of Namor has often been linked to Black Panther 2 and if this report turns out to be true, then we might just see that happening.
We are also excited for Namor, but it’s Hulk’s name that has got us excited even more. We have seen Mark Ruffalo play the Hulk, and undoubtedly he has been the best Hulk so far. Even, Mark is interested in playing Hulk in future Marvel films. Also, his story isn’t yet done. Kevin Feige also spoke about future ideas for Hulk and said,
Many years ago, Mark came in for a meeting with us at Marvel Studios to discuss ways in which the Hulk could grow and evolve in upcoming films.
He pitched a lot of cool ideas, some of which led to what you saw in Thor: Ragnarok, Infinity War and Endgame, and some of which would still be cool to see someday.”
If you have seen The Incredible Hulk starring Edward Norton, then you might know that RDJ also made an appearance in the post-credits. But, that was all before Disney purchased Marvel, and Marvel Cinematic Universe began. There have always been talks of a Hulk solo film, but they were never materialized.
Now, that someday Kevin was talking about might have arrived as Marvel is believed to have full rights over Hulk. There are already plans for a She Hulk series on Disney+ and having rights to Hulk might also set it up in a better way.
The question is if Marvel has full rights to Hulk, how and when can we expect a Hulk solo film. Well, the answer is, that they could do a Black Widow. We could see the adventures of Hulk, before the events of Thor: Ragnarok.
If you remember correctly, Hulk left Earth in the Age of Ultron, and then, we saw him next in Ragnarok. The Hulk solo film could be about the adventures and could be placed between the events of Age of Ultron and Ragnarok. Another idea could be, to explore adventures of Hulk even before the first Avengers. That could set up the origin of Hulk in the MCU. We saw numerous heroes like Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Panther, and Doctor Strange get their own origins. So, MCU could go back in time and give us the origins of Hulk and somehow link it to the recent events.
Whatever maybe the case we excited that Hulk is back and we might have a possibility of a solo Hulk film or even a TV series would do.
