Peter & Tony’s Photo the Solution to Time Travel:
Avengers: Endgame finally brought in the concept of Time Travel into the MCU. The most interesting thing that they did with Time Travel was not keep the concept same as every other film. In Marvel’s time travel, changing the past doesn’t change the future. Rather, an alternate time is created. While this may be good or bad for certain reasons, we’re still happy that it was unique and Marvel pulled it off. 3 individuals deserve the biggest credit for solving Time Travel – Tony, Scott & the Rat that freed Scott. Another character that helped out was Peter.
Because Peter helped, he really deserves to have EDITH. Even in Death, Peter was the hero. Anyway, let’s decipher how Peter was actually responsible for fixing Time Travel. He became a motivation for Tony, but it was actually his goofiness that helped solve Time Travel overnight. After doing the dishes, Tony saw Peter’s photo, took a second to process his feelings and then went to his basement to give Time Travel another shot.
Now you need to make one thing clear here. This wasn’t Tony’s first shot at time travel. Over the last 5 years, Tony had attempted time travel several times & failed. Tony’s new Iron Man suit (Mark 85) was built to sustain his life while he held the Infinity Stones. So, that proves that Tony had always planned to go back in time and do the snap once more. But since he had failed, he began to settle down & just started focusing on his family.
But when Scott emerged from the Quantum Realm, a glimor of hope arised. Then even though Tony denied helping around with Time Travel, looking at Peter’s photo motivated him to try one last time. But if you watch the scene in slow motion, the photo didn’t just provide Tony with the right motivation, but it actually provided Tony with the solution to solve TT.
In this photo, Peter was holding his internship certificate from Stark Industries inverted. It probably was a mistake as Peter might’ve been very excited while getting his picture clicked and didn’t realize that his certificate was inverted. Anyway, the time that Tony took to process his feelings actually gave him the inverted idea. He asked Friday to render a model of a Mobius strip, but “Inverted”. And that model worked, leading for Tony to be able to create a working time GPS device. It’s really amazing how Marvel hides solutions in these tiny details, and viewing the film in slow motion actually helps us figure out even more things than an average viewer does.
Now, Tony is gone and Marvel going to embrace the new. Spider-Man has already had an outing and is in deep trouble now. Spider-Man 3 will solve the situation that Spidey currently stands in. And after that, we’d get to see even more adventures in the Quantum Realm as Ant-Man and the Wasp 3 will arrive in July 2022. Scott Lang isn’t given enough credit in the MCU as he was one of the main reasons why the Avengers were able to save the day in Avengers: Endgame. Perhaps Ant-Man and the Wasp 3 might make him a bigger deal.
