DC Casts Aladdin Star Marwan Kenzari As Black Adam’s Villain

Marwan Kenzari As Black Adam’s Villain:

DC definitely has big plans for the next few years. Despite having issues with continuation, DC has not let go of its fans, and it is something that we can all admire. “The hierarchy of power in the DC UNIVERSE is about to change,” Johnson writes in the update praising strength and conditioning coach Dave Rienzi for the “ever-evolving, strategic road map to success for this film and character.” Now, this is exciting, we can finally see those big tight muscles in play. Fans have often expressed their wish of seeing Johnson as a superhero and we are getting it. Dwayne Johnson is officially going to be a part of the DC Universe and it only gets better. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been an upfront showman for the entire World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), and his role of ‘Black Adam’ is going to be really crucial for his career.

Fast and Furious Spin-Off Hobbs & Shaw Keanu Reeves

Over the summer we witnessed Warner Bros. revealed the first look at Black Adam during the virtual DC FanDome event. Johnson described his character as a “ruthless keeper of justice” and “one of the most powerful [characters] in the DC Universe.” Black Adam is “one of the most powerful superheroes, anti-heroes, villains, whatever you want to call [him],” Johnson said, also warning the character is not your typical DC superhero. He further adds, “He is the judge, the jury, and the executioner, and he believes in an eye for an eye. He will always do everything he can to protect his people, more so protect his family,” Johnson said of Black Adam, who wields the same magic-given powers as Shazam (Zachary Levi).

But now, we have big news. Who is Black Adam going to face? THR reports Marwan Kenzari is in final negotiations to star in Black Adam. Kenzari is best known for playing Jafar in Disney’s live-action Aladdin, as well as Joe in Netflix’s breakout action flick The Old Guard. As for his Black Adam role, he will reportedly portray the villain, according to The Wrap. Production is looking to begin in April in Atlanta, but the film remains without a release date.

With Black Adam, Kenzari adds another high-profile studio movie to his filmography. Plot details are still slim, so it’s hard to predict which DC Comics character he could end up playing. However, those who saw his performance in Aladdin know he can handle the villainous types, and it will exciting to see him go toe-to-toe with Johnson. Back when Shahi was cast in October, Johnson seemed to hint she would be Black Adam’s villain. It is unsure if she and Kenzari’s mystery guy are going to team up. Regardless, it is going to be interesting.

Black Adam’s production has been shifted to 2021 spring, during the coronavirus pandemic. Speaking of this, Black Adam is not the only movie to meet this fate, The Batman was also shifted to 2022. Black Adam does not have an official date announced yet. But one thing is for sure, that when this happens, the internet is going to break and Dwayne Johnson as Black Adams is going to trend for a long long time. The superheroes have to exhibit a little bit of restraint when it comes to taking care of the bad guys, if you will, or taking care of the people who are in their way,” Johnson added when. “He does not practice restraint. That makes for a really powerful combination, and one that’s explosive one that’s very dangerous, and one that is very likable — to me, at least.”

Marwan Kenzari As Black Adam's Villain

Aren’t you excited to see Dwayne Johnson as Black Adams and kick some people for good and fight for ultimate justice? Along with this, we will see Black Adam go toe-to-toe against Kenari. For the time being, expect Kenzari’s character to remain a secret. If filming is aiming to begin in April, it’ll be some time before more specifics are revealed. What seems more pressing now is the missing release date. Should Black Adam start production as planned, it could be set to premiere in the first half of 2022. There could be some space for the movie on the DCEU’s calendar after The Batman debuts in March. Only time will tell where Black Adam lands, but the cast is definitely growing in size, and that’s a thrilling thing. We surely expect more additions to the cast. Considering how strong the lineup already is, we can expect to get stronger with time.
