10 Insane Facts About Kefla From Dragon Ball Super

Facts About Kefla:

Dragon Ball Super gave us the Tournament of Power saga and it was massive. If you have seen it, then you know that not even a second of that tournament was boring and had you at the edge of your seat throughout its run time. The tournament itself was ruthless – If you lose, your universe will be erased out of existence. And Zeno really did so. The Tournament of Power in particular gave us two female Saiyans – Kale and Caulifla, from Universe 6. Now, believe it or not, this is actually the first time we Dragon Ball fans witnessed two women Super Saiyans and on such high intensity.

At a certain point in time, we see Kale and Caulifla merging using the Potara fusion technique to become ‘Kefla’, and oh boy wasn’t she a treat. She literally butchered Goku, until Goku tapped into Ultra Instinct to have an edge over Kefla.

Even though she lost, it was established that Kefla is a major introduction in the Dragon Ball Universe, considering how she’s a fusion of two Saiyans just like Vegeta and Goku become Gogeta or Vegito. But this is not it, we have some really interesting facts about Kefla for you.

First Female Fusion:

Kefla, as defined by dragonball.fandom.com, is a weaponized Fusion of Kale and Caulifla, two female Saiyans hailing from Universe 6. She is the first female fusion in the series as of yet, and we can definitely expect to see more in the near future.

Goku’s Ultra Instinct:

Kefla is so strong that she literally pushed Goku to achieve the God level Ultra Instinct. She has the ability to easily deal with Super Saiyan Blue and break off mountains just with her Ki. Now, this is something too interesting for us to notice. Ultra Instinct was first ignited by Jiren when Goku succumbed to his own Spirit Bomb. But Kefla pushed Goku, all this while claiming that she’s just having fun, and still warming up.

Limited Time:

It is a well-known fact about Potara fusion that it remains for a brief period of time and must only be used in times of extreme desperation. Kefla is a result of this said technique and this weaponized power comes with a limited time. She has the ability to retain her Fusion for one hour, and if she transforms before the 60-minutes, her fusion can last even shorter.

Naturally a Super Saiyan:

The manga and the anime are portrayed differently. In the anime, as we see Kale and Caulifla fuse into Kefla, but in their normal forms. Whereas in the manga, we see both of them fuse as Super Saiyans and Kefla is automatically a Super Saiyan in her base form! In the anime, Kefla has to power up to go to the Super Saiyan level.

In the anime, we see Kefla fighting Goku, right? But originally in the manga that is not the case. In the manga, Kefla fights Gohan, Goku’s son, and it was an incredible fight. Gohan as usual went to his Ultimate Gohan form and Kefla turned into Super Saiyan whilst warning Gohan of the consequences of her supreme power. The battle went on and they both fought with everything they had when in the end one final blow eliminates them both.

Voiced by Different Actresses:

To really highlight this epic Fusion of Kale and Caulifla, the creators hired two different actresses to voice the character Kefla, only to emphasise it more. Kefla is voiced by both Japanese actress Yukana, who voices Caulifla, and Yuka Komatsu, who voices Kale in Dragon Ball Super. The two female voices are combined to form one. Also, her name is pronounced as Kefura in the Japanese series instead of Kefla (Kale + Caulifla).

Caulifla is Incharge:

When we see Kefla’s nature during the battle and while talking to her opponents as well, we can clearly see the personality closely resembles Caulifla as she’s much more confident than Kale and loves teasing her opponents the same way Kefla does.

Legendary Ki Control:

When Kefla powers up to Super Saiyan 2, her Ki matches that of Goku’s Ultra Instinct Sign. She has the ability to control her explosive Ki blasts with exact precision as she also scathed Goku. Her Ki control allows her to shield punches from Goku in Ultra Instinct Sign form.

Equal to a Spirit Bomb:

As we know that Saiyans usually evolve more during combat, the same happened with Kefla. While Kefla grew even sharper and stronger while fighting, Whis took notice of this development and entertains the notion that Kefla’s power is equal to that of the Spirit Bombs, one of the strongest attacks in the Dragon Ball series invented by King Kai.

All this only tells us that Kefla has a much brighter future in the future of Dragon Ball and we would love to see another Kefla v Goku, or actually this time, Kefla v Gohan. Let us know what you think of Kefla!
