Thor 4 Should Involve the Guardians of the Galaxy:
One might think that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness could prove to be the biggest movie of 2021 because of its massive cast. But we’ve got reason to believe that Thor: Love and Thunder will be even bigger and bolder. It actually packs a cast that has several Hollywood A-Listers like Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson, Christian Bale, and most of the Guardians of the Galaxy actors. So, it could have a Captain America: Civil War level impact, in space!!
Talking about the Guardians, there’s a chance that most of them won’t stick around for the entire film. Keeping all of them along for a long while will be troublesome as the Guardians might hog the screen time that should go to Thor, Valkyrie, Jane, and Christian Bale’s character. So, we reckon that they might just come in during the opening segment, and then Thor will get separated from them.
But we’ve been given the impression by Vin Diesel that Rocket and Groot might stick around with Thor for the entire film, while the rest of the Guardians could carry their mission to search for Gamora. This is what we believe should be the plan. But what we also want is for the Guardians to return into the thick of action for the final battle of the film.
Initially, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was supposed to start off with Phase 4. So, seeing Thor with the Guardians towards the end of Avengers: Endgame did seem quite surprising. Everyone started to think that it’d be really tough for the director of Guardians Vol. 3 to keep Thor into the plot, and then put the main focus on the Guardians. Thor isn’t someone who could easily be sidelined. He is a character that will make things happen with his presence. So, things didn’t make total sense until Kevin Feige announced that Thor: Love and Thunder will arrive before Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
And now, Marvel has a chance to give us the complete Asgardians of the Galaxy package. We may not get another chance like this, so we reckon that Taika Waititi should make full use of the opportunity, while keeping the focus on Thor, Jane and Valkyrie as well. Recently, THR reported that Thor: Love and Thunder will have an “Avengers 5 feel.” So, that could be accomplished in its true sense with the Guardians being present during the final battle.
This is how we think that things should play out. After Drax, Mantis, Nebula and Star-Lord part ways with Thor in the first act of the film, they should probably unite with Thor, the Mighty Thor, Rocket, Groot, Korg, Miek, Valkyrie, and even Lady Sif during the final battle of the movie. Christian Bale’s character could have an army to wage a war against Team Thor. And right when things become tough for Team Thor, the Guardians could step into the battle to shift the momentum towards the heroes. At the same time, it will also be fun to see the reaction of Star Prince when he suddenly sees The Mighty Thor in action and goes “There are two of them now!” It would be hard for him to pick his jaw up from the floor.
Let’s wait and see how things go in Thor 4. Until we get any further updates, here’s what the Phase 4 slate looks like – WandaVision is set to arrive on Disney+ in 2020. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is confirmed for 2021 and it could arrive in Spring.
