All 9 Upcoming Superhero Movies of 2021 After Adjusted Release Dates

Upcoming Superhero Movies of 2021:

We would have got at least 11 superhero movies in 2021, but COVID-19 has pushed the number down to 9. The pandemic has relatively pushed the industry by 1 year, if not more. Even the studios that would have got their films ready by 2021 have now pushed their projects to 2022 in order to accommodate the ones that were supposed to arrive in 2020. So, here’s the updated schedule of all the superhero movies that are going to arrive in 2021.

Mortal Kombat

A Superhero movie is the one that consists of a fictional individual who has “extraordinary or superhuman powers.” That’s what puts Mortal Kombat in the superhero genre as well. The previous Mortal Kombat movies have been pure garbage, but this time around, Warner Bros. actually has the advantage. Their last two gory Mortal Kombat games sold really well in the market, and R-Rated action movies have found a lot of love in the last few years. So, things could really turn out well for Mortal Kombat when it arrives on January 15. It’s interesting that Warner Bros. haven’t put out a trailer yet. That could be a hint for its delay, but let’s wait for the final verdict.

Morbius

Finally, Sony is going to release their second SPUMC movie on March 19. Morbius will bring vampires into the mix as Michael Morbius is going to turn into the living Vampire. Jared Leto’s performance seemed pretty epic in the first trailer. But the reason why we’re truly excited about this film is because of its connections with Spider-Man & the MCU. Michael Keaton’s Adrian Toomes showed up in the trailer out of nowhere, and now we’d like to see if Spidey and Mac Gargan will also show up in the film.

Black Widow

Black Widow would have arrived on May 1st this year, but eventually, Disney settled after delaying the film by a whole year. Now, we will bid farewell to Natasha Romanoff on May 7, 2021. We’re really hoping that this film will be worth the wait as we’ve not seen an MCU movie since July 2019. So, Black Widow will now have an added incentive as people are hungrier for MCU content more than ever.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League

Warner Bros. has delayed 2 of their three theatrical releases of 2021 to 2022. But we’re really glad that we’ll at least be getting Zack Snyder’s Justice League on HBO Max. It will arrive as an episodic mini-series, but Snyder will later release it as 1 single movie. We haven’t got a release date yet, but the reported release window is said to be in early 2021. Even though we have seen 1/4th of the film, it could still turn out to be the greatest project of the year because Snyder isn’t holding back.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage

More than Morbius, people are really looking forward to Venom: Let There Be Carnage. That’s mainly because Woody Harrelson is going to wreak havoc in this film. It will be literal Carnage when Cletus Kasady breaks out of prison. Venom 2 arrives on June 25.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Marvel took a smart call and moved their Phase 4 schedule once again. Because of that, the Shang Chi movie found a new slot on July 9. The reason we should be excited for this movie isn’t just because of all the Kung Fu & Martial Arts that Shang-Chi & the Mandarin are gonna showcase. But we’ve actually got to look forward for the shape shifting alien dragon, Fin Fang Foom. Yes, he will be unleashed upon humanity & its fallout will be catastrophic.

The Suicide Squad

Upcoming Superhero Movies of 2021

James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad is surely among the top 3 most anticipated movies of the year. It is a big budgeted R-Rated adventure through and through, and it packs a huge cast with big names like John Cena, Idris Elba and Margot Robbie among many others. The fact that we don’t really know much about most of its characters is what makes it an extremely exciting prospect. It opens on August 6.

Eternals

The new MCU rescheduling of 2021 allowed Marvel to place Eternals in its November release slot once again. Instead of November 6, 2020, we will now explore the history of the MCU on November 5, 2021. Marvel hasn’t released any trailer yet, but with its all-star cast and the immortal characters that have a wide range of abilities, Eternals could prove to be the biggest Marvel movie of the year.

Spider-Man 3

Upcoming Superhero Movies of 2021

Sony’s third Spider-Man movie of the MCU is set to arrive on December 17. We recently found out about the addition of Jamie Foxx as Electro in the film. His Electro will be totally different from what we saw in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Besides him, the cast of Homecoming will return, and we might see Scorpion in the movie as well. But the biggest rumor that’s going on about this film is that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield could also reprise their roles as Spider-Men. They could make a cameo to set up an eventual live-action Spider-verse movie.

Upcoming Superhero Movies of 2021

Films like Mission: Impossible 7, Snake Eyes and Fast & Furious 9 aren’t technically superhero movies, but they’d be nothing less than a Superhero movie either. So, you should really look forward to those. Which 2021 superhero movies are you excited about? Tell us in the comments.
