Chris Hemsworth is set to star in a bunch of upcoming movies. Two of his projects that he is supposed to film in the immediate future are Netflix’s Hulk Hogan movie and Thor: Love and Thunder. We’ve suspected that Chris Hemsworth will film the Hulkamania movie before Love and Thunder, but now it seems to be the other way around. Recently, Taika Waititi and Chris Hemsworth were spotted playing cricket on the beach in Australia. Here, take a look at a few pictures of the two chilling with friends and family:
Since Thor: Love and Thunder is supposed to be shot in Australia, people have already started to connect the dots and think that the next Thor movie will begin filming very soon. That is probably why the actor and the director are seen together in these pictures. Now, there is a chance that these two celebrities, who are very good friends of each other could just be hanging out and playing cricket. But, the Love and Thunder filming theory does sound plausible because the movie is just about 15 months away from us. And since Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is also starting production by the next month, similar could be the case for Thor: Love and Thunder.
We’ve theorized in the past that Thor: Love and Thunder won’t feature bro Thor anymore. See, Thor’s weight transition came as a massive surprise in Avengers: Endgame, but it was not a permanent change. The only thing that is permanent in life is impermanence. So, we thought that Thor would take his mother’s advice from Endgame and start a diet that mostly involves salad. Meaning, he will have crossed his phase of being fat Thor. Now, he could be bulkier than the Thor we’ve seen in the past. Or at least this is what we thought.
This thought of ours originated from Chris Hemsworth’s own statement. Back in July, spoke to Total Film about his Hulk Hogan role. He said:
“This movie is going to be a really fun project. As you can imagine, the preparation for the role will be insanely physical. I will have to put on more size than I ever have before, even more than I put on for Thor. And then there is the accent as well as the physicality and the attitude. I will also have to do a deep dive into the rabbit hole of the wrestling world, which I’m really looking forward to doing,”
Since he stated that he is going to put on more muscle in the Hulk Hogan movie, we thought that he will continue with the same physique in Thor: Love and Thunder as it would make sense for him to be bulky in that story as well. But in the photos that we see above, Chris Hemsworth doesn’t look bulky at all. He looks to be in his usual Thor physique. Now putting on weight and muscle takes a while, and he clearly hasn’t started that process. So this means that he is probably going to film Thor: Love and Thunder before the Hulk Hogan biopic. And so, Thor’s physique will be back to what we’re used to seeing. Hence, our initial theory has been proven partly incorrect. Now let’s see when exactly do the cameras start to roll for Thor: Love and Thunder.
The one thing we’re happy about is that Thor: Love and Thunder will not be the final MCU film of Chris Hemsworth. He has confirmed that he will return for more films. He was recently interviewed by Elle Man in Poland, and he was asked about his retirement from the MCU. The big Aussie replied:
“Are you crazy ?! I’m not going into any retirement period. Thor is way too young for that. I’m only 1500 years old! It is definitely not a film that I say goodbye to this brand. At least I hope so. “After reading the script, I can say that I am very excited. For sure there will be a lot of love and a lot of lightning in this production. I’m glad that after all that happened in Avengers: Endgame, I’m still part of the Marvel Universe and we can continue the story of Thor. Of course, I can’t tell you anything about the plot, but to satisfy your curiosity, I’ll say that I had a lot more fun reading the script than on Thor: Ragnarok, and that proves something, because this movie was brilliant.”
So, let’s see how Thor’s future unfolds when he arrives in Thor: Love and Thunder on February 11, 2021.
