Facts About Kang The Conqueror:
The next phase-4 of MCU has been on the making ever since some of our original superheroes exited the Marvel Universe in Avengers: Endgame. If we go by history, we know that each MCU movie has its own villain while slowly building the mastermind and the cruelest one for the main storyline. Though much has not been revealed about the upcoming phase, the casting of Jonathan Majors for Ant-Man 3 as Kang the Conqueror has spilled enough beans.
Kang was introduced during the adventures of the Fantastic Four. He is one of the most dangerous villains of Marvel who can travel through time and aims to conquer the universe, hence the name. He has lived through a millennium and fought countless wars. He has many incarnations due to his time travel and thus carries various identities. He could be the next Thanos-level threat to the new mighty heroes. Let us learn a few important facts about the next MCU villain- Kang the Conqueror.
1. Hails From The Future
Before becoming Kang The Conqueror in the 40th century, Nathanial Richards was originally born in the 30th century where humans led a peaceful life without evil existence. This peaceful and happy world without hatred irritated and bored Nathanial. He wanted some adventures and spicy conflict which prompted him to travel through time.
2. Confusing Ancestry- Reed Richards Or Victor von Doom
It was believed that Nathanial Richards was a descendant of Reed Richards since his ancestors were said to be the time-traveler, Nathanial Richards- father of Reed. However, Nathanial sings another tale by claiming that he belongs to Doctor Doom’s bloodline. In his quest to travel through time and conquer the world, the time-machine discovered by Nathanial belonged to none other than Doctor Doom in the 21st century.
3. When He Landed In The 40th Century
Nathanial Richards was fighting the Fantastic Four through time for ages but he became the dangerous Kang the Conqueror after he accidentally crashed in the 40th Century. The advanced technology and weapons he found over there were way superior to his own original era. The 40th century marked a dystopian era whose values lined well with those of Kang.
4. Master of Technology
You’ll be surprised to know that a man without a single superpower became one of the most sinister and indestructible villains. The only advantage that Nathaniel Richards aka Kang had was his access to technology and weapons from the distant future. His futuristic armor alone makes him invincible as it provides him super-strength, flight, and the ability to grab any weapon just by raising his hand.
5. Founded The Young Avengers
The ending of the MCU phase 4 and the exit of some of the Mighty Heroes of Earth has had us wondering about the Young Avengers. As mentioned before, Kang has multiple versions and incarnations of himself. One of them was his teen self from the future who didn’t want to become a villain and therefore waged a war against his grown-up self. The young Nathanial Richards travels to the 21st Century and forms a team with Ant-Man’s daughter, Cassie Lang, Hawkeye’s daughter Kate Bishop, Scarlet Witch’s son, Wiccan, and Hulkling. Incidentally, we know for a fact that these children have come to age and will soon be taking on their parents’ mantle. So, could this be a possibility in the upcoming movies?
6. Turned Iron Man Into Villain
Kang once decided to destroy the Avengers from inside. He traveled back in time and influenced young Tony Stark’s life in such ways he grew up to be a villain. This prompted the Avengers to go back in time themselves and return with the innocent kid Tony.
7. Won Many Battles In Modern Marvel Universe
Kang has won endless battles but the most profound victory for him was conquering the present Universe. He was able to attack the modern Marvel universe with his army and advanced technology from the 40th Century that surpassed the current weapons. This led to the dawn of the Kang Dynasty.
8. Influenced Most Of The Technological Discoveries
Since he has lived through endless times, Kang has secretly helped in many technological discoveries in the Marvel Universe. He lived in the 20th Century as Victor Timely and subsequently posed as his sons to influence the era in building advanced tech.
9. Collects All the Significant Marvel Objects
Every proud villain loves to reward himself with trophies from every won-battle. Kang has also stored some of the greatest Marvel objects that he collected from his battles in different realities. Some of these mementos include Captain America’s shield, Iron Man’s helmet, and jaw-dropping items that we know of.
10. His Army Belongs To Different Eras
Traveling through has given Kang the advantage to gather the best of the warriors from various centuries. So, don’t lose your mind if you spot battle robots from the future and evil invaders from your history books stand on the same ground.
