New Disney+ Video Reveals the Evolution of Iron Man in MCU
Disney+ Video Reveals Evolution of Iron Man:
There are many things to love about the MCU. But one of the main reasons why we continue loving all superheroes in this world of fiction is because of their constant evolution. Not only do the characters continue to grow spiritually as individuals, but their suits also continue to change with every film. This tactic of changing suits is carried because of several reasons. And obviously, it has been practiced the most by Iron Man.
The main reason why Marvel continues to change the suits of all heroes is to sell toys & merchandise. If the suits remain the same throughout the run of a hero, then people won’t be enticed to buy the new merchandise. A change of suit attracts people to continue buying new merchandise & toys. Selling these toys helps in making money off of the characters outside of the films & comics. But at the same time, it also helps to market an upcoming movie, game, TV series or a comic at the same time.
But apart from this practical reason, Marvel continues to add new suits in order to keep the characters fresh, unique, and exciting. The great thing about it is that Marvel never does it for the sake of doing it. Every time a hero gets a new suit, there’s a reason behind the change which makes the new suit feel natural and fitting. Other than making the characters look cool, the change happens to give out a message, express the internal & external growth of a character or for a different and sensible reason such as functional improvement.
Iron Man has obviously had the most number of suit changes than any other superhero ever. Robert Downey Jr. made Iron Man bigger, but the fact that Marvel could give him at least 2 or more suits in every one of the MCU movies made him their biggest character from the financial point of view. With his different suits, Marvel could sell the most number of merchandise and toys. A change in his suit always represented an improvement. Tony came up with new suits as he constantly upgraded his technology. And now, Disney+ has revealed a new video that shows the evolution of his suits. Watch it if you haven’t:

We don’t see the house party protocol suits in this video as all of them didn’t get a huge emphasis on the big screen. But still, they were an important part of Tony’s development. And now, the evolution of Iron Man might continue with the Riri Williams aka Ironheart.
After Tony, we’ve enjoyed the evolution of Cap & Natasha’s suits. They’ve also come with different messages and upgrades. Thor is among the ones who have had a lower number of suit upgrades. But most of his evolution has happened through the changes in looks. And among the new heroes, Doctor Strange is a character who won’t really get a lot of suit changes.
It’s quite fascinating how Spider-Man, has already gone through 5 suit changes. His next film might bring another new suit into play. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will bring about the most exciting of suit changes as first, Falcon will be donning his comic accurate colors. Then, he will probably get his own Captain America suit towards the end of the series. Bucky is also getting a subtle costume change. Let’s see if he will also get a suit that signifies his new White Wolf persona quite literally.
Talking about white suits, Black Widow is going to get a white suit. And after that, we will see Vision turn white in the upcoming WandaVision series. So, that’s going to be awesome as well. We’d also love to see Marvel’s design for the comic accurate suit of Scarlet Witch that Wanda will be donning in the series.
Here’s the updated Phase 4 movie schedule of MCU – Black Widow on November 6, 2020, The Eternals on February 12, 2021, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings on May 7, 2021, Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 on November 5, 2021, Thor: Love and Thunder on February 11, 2022, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness on March 25, 2022, Black Panther II on May 6, 2022, and Captain Marvel 2 on July 8, 2022.
