Dwayne Johnson Reveals Black Adam New Look:
2021 is going to be a great year for us DC fans as WB & DC will be bringing us the most powerful antihero along with 3 other films. The Rock is going to be the “Man in Black” who will take on Shazam & Superman in the future of the DC Universe. At the DC FanDome, Dwayne Johnson is gonna lead an exclusive panel that will be full of surprises. But before we get to it, check out the new look at Black Adam that Johnson just teased on Instagram:

It’s good that things are looking great for Black Adam as the entire cast of the film as been assembled and is ready to be revealed at the Dome. So far, we only know that Noah Centineo is playing Atom Smasher in the upcoming movie. The Illuminerdi reported earlier this week that Alexander Skarsgård is being eyed for Hawkman. Since this report came right before DC FanDome, there’s a high probability that it is indeed true.
As for the rest of the cast, there was a Reddit leak which revealed Noah Centineo to be the top contender for Atom Smasher. Ultimately, the actor was cast for the role. So there is a chance that the rest of the casting leak may be true as well. Check it out:
“Nazanin Boniadi is locked in Isis.
Navid Negabhan is in talks for Ibac.
Eiza Gonzalez is the frontrunner for Hawkgirl.
Oded Fehr is eyed for Doctor Fate.
Thomasin McKenzie is the top choice for Cyclone, but other actors are in the mix including Kathyrn Newton, Haley Lu Richardson, Mackenzie Foy, and Odessa Young.”
If this is indeed the cast of the film, then we will know for sure at the Black Adam panel tomorrow. Just like most things in the world, COVID-19 has affected Black Adam as well. By now The Rock & Ryan Reynolds would’ve finished filming on Netflix’s Red Notice and the Rock would’ve been on the sets of Black Adam. But, reports have suggested that soon after the lockdown lifts, Johnson will go back to shoot Red Notice since half of it is yet to be filmed. He can only start with Black Adam after he finishes filming the Netflix movie. And so, the production of Black Adam has possibly been delayed to early 2021. This is a significant delay and it could cause the release date of Black Adam to be pushed to 2022 as well.
Regardless, we’re happy that the film is finally going to be made. Here’s what Johnson had to say about the character earlier this year:
“Black Adam has been with me for over ten years now. And that gives you an idea of how passionate I am with this project, how passionate our Seven Bucks is about this project. Warner Brothers, New Line Cinema, DC, they have been so incredibly supportive over the years. This has been over 10 years. In 2008, we started talking about this, so it has required a patience by all of us as partners and I am a much different man and an actor than I was 10 years ago.”
Until we get an official update on it, here’s how the DC movie slate stands – Wonder Woman 1984 arrives on October 2, 2020, The Snyder Cut of Justice League will release sometime in early 2021, The Suicide Squad releases on August 6, 2021, The Batman will release on October 1, 2021, Black Adam arrives on December 21, 2021, The Flash hits theatres on June 3, 2022, Shazam 2 opens on November 4, 2022, & Aquaman 2 arrives on December 16, 2022.
