Captain Marvel 2 is going to be a major crossover event. Like Thor, Carol will be a link between Earth and the Cosmos. Only this link will be much stronger with her. Captain Marvel is to become the next leader of the Avengers, and eventually, the face of Marvel as well. So, it is kinda obvious that if Marvel wants to establish her as the leader, then they will have to use her in other projects, and other heroes will have to be a part of her solo film(s). Therefore, it is understandable for her to have a big connection with heroes like Ms. Marvel in the future of the MCU.
Back when Captain Marvel came out, Brie Larson was asked about a character that she’d love to team up with in Captain Marvel 2. Her reply was none other than Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel. A recent report from scooper Charles Murphy suggested that Ms. Marvel will make her MCU debut before she appears in her solo series on Disney+. That debut will not be in Captain Marvel 2 because the Ms. Marvel series will arrive on Disney+ before the Captain Marvel sequel hits the theatres. So clearly, it will be a Phase 4 project where Ms. Marvel will appear. It could be Spider-Man 3, but we’re not sure of that as of now.
Anyway, this confirms that Ms. Marvel will actually have at least 3 MCU appearances within a span of 2 years. She will first appear in a Phase 4 movie or series, then she’d have her backstory and origins told in her own series. And finally, as TheDirect reports, Ms. Marvel will also appear in Captain Marvel 2. Kevin Feige and co have major plans for her in the MCU.
Ms. Marvel is a character that Marvel really gives a lot of importance to. She is obviously a big character in the comics. The Avengers Assemble series also used her extremely well. And now, she will have a major role to play in the upcoming Avengers PS4 game before she goes on to do her thing in the MCU.
The good part about Captain Marvel 2 is that it won’t just have Ms. Marvel, but quite a few MCU heroes. There have been several different rumors stating various story elements that Captain Marvel 2 might follow. One of those suggested that Captain Marvel 2 will have Carol leading the A-Force on a mission. Another rumor suggests that the film will be about the Secret Invasion story, and several MCU heroes will take part in the film. Moreover, this is when the bad Skrulls will come into play. So far we have only witnessed the good Skrulls, but Kevin Feige confirmed in the past that bad Skrulls also exist in the MCU.
So, a great part of this second rumor suggests that Captain Marvel will be fighting a Super Skrull, and other heroes will also be assisting her in the film. Apart from Ms. Marvel, Nova will be in it, making his MCU debut. And Spider-Man will also make his appearance. Remember that his deal allows him to appear in at least one more MCU movie apart from Spider-Man 3? Captain Marvel 2 is probably going to be the film where he completes his quota until Sony & Disney extend a new deal for Spidey.
