Hercules MCU Debut Sooner:
MCU Phase 4 & 5 will bring in over 20 new heroes. Till now, Marvel took their time to bring new heroes and villains into the picture. Phase 3 did pick up the pace in this matter, but if you think that Phase 3 was as fast as Aaron Taylor Johnson’s Quicksilver in revealing new heroes, then Phase 4 is going to be Evan Peter’s Quicksilver in terms of introducing new characters. And among these characters is going to be the Greek God of Strength, Hercules.
Yes, Hercules is finally going to arrive in the MCU very soon. The Cinema Spot reports that Hercules is “coming to the MCU in the near future,” and we might actually see the muscle-bound Olympian make his debut in “a supporting role or a lead role in his own project.” Back when Eternals was announced and we got to know that the film will feature an openly Gay superhero, it was presumed that this LGBTQ character could be none other than Hercules himself. But then, he wasn’t revealed to be amongst the cast members or the characters that were announced at SDCC or the D23 Expo last year. So, the idea of him being in The Eternals was entirely dropped by everyone since there are already about a dozen characters that will be focused upon.
So, which other projects could introduce Hercules? We’d say Thor 4, but it already seems to be quite stuffed. We do want a Thor vs. Hercules match up to take place in the MCU, but now might not be the right time for it. Loki could be a project where Hercules could show up. Or it could be an Eternals sequel, but that is too far down the line. Another project where Hercules could debut is She-Hulk, as the Olympian does have a romantic relationship with the strong green woman of Earth.
Thinking about the many heroes that are coming to the MCU just makes us go insane. The Eternals is bringing in – Kit Harrington as Dane Whitman aka Black Knight, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Gemma Chan as Sersi, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayak as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Barry Keoghan as Druig, and Angelina Jolie as Thena.
Then there is Shang-Chi, who will also bring in a few other characters. Black Widow and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will contribute to characters that will form the Thunderbolts. Yelena Belova and Taskmaster (probably) will join Secretary Ross’ Thunderbolts along with the likes of Baron Zemo, Ghost & even Justin Hammer. As for the new characters, Black Widow will give us a one off Red Guardian. And rumors suggest that we’d also see the Russian Mutant Ursa Major.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will introduce characters like John Walker/US Agent, played by Wyatt Russell, Battlestar, Elijah Bradley (the future Patriot) and another Russian Mutant Omega Red. WandaVision will bring in Monica Rambeau, Wiccan, Speed & Hulkling. Loki has his own surprise characters like Angela, Lady Loki & Kid Loki. Thor 4 has the Mighty Thor & Beta Ray Bill. She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight are all getting TV shows of their own. There’s Blade & Nova who will get their own films. Deadpool, Wolverine, Gambit, Rogue and other X-Men are also coming. Hawkeye will introduce Kate Bishop, who will introduce the Young Avengers. Ant-Man and the Wasp 3 will give us Stature, another Young Avengers member. And finally, there are the Fantastic Four, the Silver Surfer and Namor the Submariner.
So many heroes, and we’ve not even added the name of Adam Warlock in them. Ghost Rider & Captain Britain are rumored for Doctor Strange 2 along with many others. We are all going to have a massive headache once MCU Phase 4 gets in full flow. So with so many names, it’d be interesting to see how Marvel puts Hercules into the picture.
