The Batman – Fan Reveals A Detailed Look at Robert Pattinson’s Bat-suit

Robert Pattinson’s Bat-suit sure did raise many eyebrows. But looking at the suit, you do understand the angle with which Matt Reeves is coming at us. This is a Batman story that is more real-world than we could ever expect. That’s why the Bat-Cycle is just a Motor-Cycle with a front depicting a Bat-head. It doesn’t even seem to have a whole lot of weaponry. Putting the same theory to the Batmobile, it is just an enhanced American Muscle. And that’s how we’re supposed to look at the suit.

The whole suit is a mix of the old fashioned Batman mixed with a modern tech approach which someone with a substantial wealth could make at his home by acquiring the right pieces. The cowl especially gives this notion as it seems to be hand-stitched. Another thing that we have to keep in mind along with the real-world approach is that the suit and the gadgets look like this because it is just the second year of Bruce Wayne being the Caped Crusader.

It is not an origin story, but Bruce is still figuring out the whole vigilante act. The second-year is still pretty early, and so it is highly likely that the suit, the Bat-Cycle & the Bat-Mobile will evolve as the story moves on when we get more sequels. Things should obviously become better with time as Batman will get better with experience.

Anyway, if you were still longing for a detailed look at the suit, then here’s a 3D portrait in daylight created by Leonardo Menegon. You can see the front on look & the side on look above. Leonardo Menegon has also given us a good look at Robert Pattinson without the cowl. And finally, the last 2 phots show us how he created the 3D model of the suit. Take a look:

As we’ve said in the past, this suit has been designed to look good from a 45-90 Degree angle, and not may be so much from the front. Many of us still have not been able to wrap our heads around the cowl. The cowl is something that doesn’t seem up to the mark, as compared to the suit rest of the suit. But we’re optimistic that it’d get better in the sequels.

The one good thing about the suit is the Bat-Symbol. It looks like Battinson has forged the handgun of Joe Chill as a Bat-sign. Joe Chill is the one who killed Bruce Wayne’s parents. The killing of his parents is what transformed Bruce into Batman. So it’s like Batman is wearing vengeance on his chest. Nice!!

This Batman movie is going to be gritty. Matt Reeves talked about how this detective story will be driven. He said:

“It’s very much a point of view-driven, noir Batman tale. It’s told very squarely on his shoulders, and I hope it’s going to be a story that will be thrilling but also emotional. It’s more Batman in his detective mode than we’ve seen in the films. The comics have a history of that. He’s supposed to be the world’s greatest detective, and that’s not necessarily been a part of what the movies have been. I’d love this to be one where when we go on that journey of tracking down the criminals and trying to solve a crime, it’s going to allow his character to have an arc so that he can go through a transformation.”

We’re quite excited for this Batman story. Because of the real worldly approach that Matt Reeves has, this Batman would never cross with the DCEU. If you’re looking for more from the DCEU’s Batman, then we’re glad to say that we haven’t seen the last of Batfleck. We’d still get to see a bit more from Ben Affleck in Zack Snyder’s Justice League when it arrives on HBO Max next year.

As for The Batman, it will release on October 1, 2021.
