Ezra Miller’s The Flash Movie Might Get Delayed, Again!!

Finally, things seemed to have been running smoothly for Ezra Miller’s The Flash. This film has had a rocky ride with several directorial changes before finalizing the “It” franchise director Andrés Muschietti. The movie was on track but COVID-19 seems to have plunged its claws into The Flash. We can hope that the film could get a rapid recovery once the world starts to function as it used to, but there seems to be a problem.

The Flash Movie Might Get Delayed

The shooting for Fantastic Beasts 3 was supposed to happen in March. It didn’t start and got postponed indefinitely. This might not just be the cause for Fantastic Beasts 3 suffering a delay in its release, but it could also delay The Flash yet again. Ezra Miller was obviously going to be a part of the filming of Fantastic Beasts 3. And we’ve heard several times that Miller would only start production upon The Flash once he is done with Fantastic Beasts 3.

The Flash Movie Might Get Delayed

According to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, stunt coordinator Eunice Huthart, The Flash was originally supposed to begin filming at the end of April or early May. He said:

“The project I was due to start is The Flash. I was supposed to start at about the end of April, beginning of May. I’m not sure what’s happening now with that.”

The Flash Movie Might Get Delayed

So logically, a delay in the production of Fantastic Beasts 3 will further cause a delay in the filming of The Flash. Let’s say that things will be fine by July and Fantastic Beasts 3 starts filming by then. Ezra Miller might finish shooting his scenes within two months like he was going to right now. That way, the quickest that the filming would begin for The Flash would be in September, if not later. Considering that The Flash has been scheduled for a July 1, 2022 release, there should still be ample time to finish the movie on time. So, let’s hope that the Coronavirus pandemic will come to an end in a couple of months and things will begin to work as they did.

Only an early stop to Coronavirus could save all of the upcoming projects. The MCU could be impacted in a major way since all of the 2021 projects were either filming already or were going to start shooting soon. It is suspected that films like Shang-Chi and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be delayed. And the similar kind of delays could be expected for DC projects as well. The production upon The Batman has been halted. Black Adam was supposed to begin shooting by June. These two movies may or may not be delayed. If they do get delayed then movies like Shazam! 2 and The Flash would get pushed back even further. That’s because WB will have to fit The Batman & Black Adam somewhere, and these films could hog the dates of The Flash & Shazam! 2.

The Flash Movie Might Get Delayed

The only film that probably won’t get affected by the Coronavirus is The Suicide Squad. James Gunn has already shot the film and is currently editing it at home. The movie is due for an August 2021 release. So Gunn has enough time to finish The Suicide Squad and even start working upon Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in the meanwhile. Anyway, let’s get back to The Flash.

Justice League Snyder Cut Green Lantern

Director Muschietti revealed that we will be seeing a “different version of Flashpoint than you’re expecting.” He didn’t go into detail about it but we could assume that this different version would actually be making the requisite changes in the DCEU. This version of Flashpoint is very important as it could align Robert Pattinson’s Batman into the DCEU. It could also change Henry Cavill’s Superman into Michael B. Jordan or some other new actor. The Flash will be the film that might make some sense out of the irregular continuity of the current DCEU. So let’s hope that it won’t get pushed back.
