Major Evidence Found for Morbius to be Set in Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man Universe

Morbius in Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man Universe:

Things about how Spider-Man will be related to Spider-Man are still a mystery. It seemed that Morbius will address MCU’s Spider-Man but the MCU won’t address Morbius. The situation would be similar to how Marvel TV used to address the MCU but the MCU movies never addressed the TV side of things. But now things have become even more confusion. Spider-Man will probably have a much bigger role to play in the Morbius movie than anyone would’ve anticipated. But what’s crazy is that people think that there’s actually certain evidence for the fact that Morbius is set in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man Universe. We’ll talk about that later.

First, let’s talk about the aforementioned set photos. As you can see, Morbius Reshoots are currently going on. And it seems that Spider-Man is a pretty regular personality in this world. He seems to have gone missing. At first glance, these photos seem to be addressing the situation that Spider-Man is currently in. It seems that after Mysterio framed him, Spider-Man seems to have gone missing. The posters on the bus ask “Where is Spider-Man”. This is in line with the previous reference to Spider-Man that came in the Morbius trailer.

Spider-Man had a murderer written over him. But what seems crazy in both these references is that the Spider-Man that is being used is from Sony’s original Spider-Man trilogy. Look at the aforementioned set photos again and see that the logo of the Daily Bugle is also the one from the original Spider-Man movies and not from the MCU. In the MCU, The Daily Bugle has been changed into a Website called “TheDailyBugle.Net”.

Is Sony trying to bring back Tobey Maguire? What is actually going on here? Sony is referencing Spider-Man’s current situation in the MCU, but they are mixing those with Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man. It seems that Morbius is set in Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man universe. So it’s possible that Morbius will be a story that comes years after we last saw Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man.

In the meanwhile, Tobey’s Spider-Man may have found himself in the same situation that MCU’s Spider-Man currently is in. And he may have fought Vulture, who in this Universe would’ve also turned out to be Adrian Toomes (with the face of Michael Keaton). Who knows, he may have fought Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio and got framed for his murder. But since it is the multiverse, the Spider-Man in this Universe is Tobey and not Tom Holland. This way the MCU & SUMC will remain to be different.

If this is the case, then Sam Raimi could easily address this Universe and bring Tobey Maguire back for a cameo in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. But we’ve actually got another solution for why Morbius seems to be addressing things from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man Universe but are actually making things canon to Spider-Man from the MCU. Sony cannot put anything in the Morbius that is from Marvel’s department of Spider-Man. For example the Stark tech suits that Spider-Man wears, Happy Hogan, Nick Fury & so on. But they can totally put the characters that they own from the MCU movies into SUMC movies. That’s why Adrian Toomes shows up at the end of Morbius trailer. But he probably won’t wear the Vulture suit from Homecoming. It is indeed going to be a situation where Sony is addressing the events of MCU, but since they cannot use the Stark tech suit of Spider-Man, they’re doing it by showing Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man suit.

That’s why, the logo of Daily Bugle that appears on the bus is also not similar to the one we saw in Spider-Man: Far From Home. But when JK Simmons’ J. Jonah Jameson shows up in Morbius, he will look similar to how he looks in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Let’s see if Sony can make things less confusing with their upcoming film or not. Morbius releases on July 31.
