Eternals – New Look At Ikaris & a Major Spoiler Revealed From the Set

Eternals – New Look At Ikaris:

Marvel has managed their team-up movies extremely well. All 4 Avengers movies, Captain America: Civil War & the two Volumes of Guardians of the Galaxy were handled in an awesome fashion. We’re hoping that Marvel would bring the same efficiency in their Eternals film as well. By looking at the string of set photos and from the plot we’re hearing of, the Eternals movie does sound really exciting. Talking about the set photos, we’ve got a new one as this time Richard Madden’s Ikaris shows up flying on the internet. Take a look:

Ikaris is said to be the strongest of the bunch but we’re willing to bet that Angelina Jolie’s Thena is as strong, if not stronger. Anyway, reports have suggested that Ikaris will be one of the LGBTQ characters from the film, and he will be happily married & have children with his husband. Now let’s get to the spoiler talk of the movie. The aforementioned set photo comes from a fan account for The Eternals that has been accurately documenting the production of the film in the past. And he states that the above still is from a massive fight sequence between the Eternals & the Deviants. He wrote:

Well, Ikaris is seen flying in his regular clothing, so this report does sound right. The description of the footage we got from Brazil CCXP stated that Barry Keoghan’s Druig will be the villain and he will lead the Deviants. So again, the above report sounds right. But what has possibly been proven wrong is our assumption.

We thought that since the film takes place in modern day and the Eternals haven’t revealed themselves to the world, it could mean that the Eternals have somehow forgotten about their powers. Upon being reminded of them, they’d unlock them once more. They were sworn protectors of Earth, so it doesn’t seem right when they didn’t show up to fight Thanos, or Loki, or even Ultron. But in the above set photo, Ikaris seems to be using his powers in the open. So does this scene happen after the Eternals are reminded of their powers? Or have the Eternals been a bunch of douchebags who remained in hiding even though the destruction of the entire Universe almost happened by someone of their own race? If it’s the latter, then Marvel needs to give a very strong explanation for keeping the Eternals in hiding all this time. Let’s see what happens.

The main story is said to revolve around the frowned upon the relationship between the Eternal Sersi (Gemma Chan) and the human Dane Whitman/Black Knight (Kit Harrington). And, the film is also said to dive into the rich history of the MCU. Here’s the official Synopsis of Marvel’s Eternals:

“Marvel Studios’ The Eternals features an exciting new team of Super Heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, ancient aliens who have been living on Earth in secret for thousands of years. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, an unexpected tragedy forces them out of the shadows to reunite against mankind’s most ancient enemy, The Deviants.”

Marvel’s future is huge and there’s a lot that could happen. Black Widow is going to kick off the future slate on May 1. Here’s how the rest of the Phase 4 slate looks like – The Falcon and The Winter Soldier in Fall 2020, The Eternals on November 6, 2020, WandaVision in 2020, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings on February 12, 2021, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness on May 7, 2021, Loki in Spring 2021, Spider-Man 3 on July 16, 2021, What If? In Summer 2021, Hawkeye in Fall 2021, and Thor: Love and Thunder on November 5, 2021. Following these are Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight and She-Hulk. Black Panther 2 has been scheduled for May 6, 2022.
