Venom 2 is Bringing Another Major Symbiote Along With Carnage

While people are talking about the upcoming Marvel & DC Superhero flicks, no one’s really talking about the Marvel movies that Sony is producing for the next year. Jared Leto’s Morbius is currently under post-production while Venom 2 is shooting right now under director Andy Serkis. We know that Serkis is a motion capture Maestro so we could really expect Venom 2 to be better than the first film. Since the first one made a huge profit for Sony, they’d surely be giving the sequel a bigger budget to work with, and that’s a plus.

Venom 2 Adds a Second Villain

What’s really a plus for this film is the villain that we’re going to focus on. The ending of Venom teased Cletus Kasady as the villain for the next movie and he is going to bond with the Symbiote Carnage. Venom had a hard time beating Riot, but Carnage is really the worst! Venom is certainly going to need a hand in taking down Carnage. The fact that Carnage also has Shriek along with him will make it even tougher for Venom to take him down.

But in the recent times, some new information has come to light. Venom 2 also seems to be bringing another Symbiote. In the comics, Carnage is Venom’s offspring. And those aware with the comics also know that Carnage has his own offspring – Toxin. A new leak has suggested that Detective Patrick Mulligan, the host of Toxin is going to be in the film. The photo you see above has made its way online, and it is proof that Toxin will be in the Venom franchise.

Toxin isn’t a villain. And he isn’t a hero either. For the most part, he has been an Anti-Hero. He is even more powerful than Carnage. The story of Toxin involves Carnage & Venom actually teaming up to take down Toxin. But right when Venom and Carnage are about to kill off Toxin, Spider-Man comes in to save him. And the 2 vs. 1 battle becomes 2 on 2.

Spider-man and Venom

We can be certain that with the new deal that Marvel & Sony have had, Spider-Man can now appear in Sony’s Universe of Marvel Characters. So, his appearance in Venom 2 is a sure shot done deal. It would make sense for Venom & Spidey to team up against Carnage. But where does Toxin fit into all of this? Is he going to be a villain who would team up with Carnage? There’s a chance that he’d actually become a set up for the third movie. That means Mulligan will bond with the Toxin Symbiote in Venom 3 and not this one.

Venom 2 Adds a Second Villain

Here’s how we see the story – Shriek & Carnage team up and wreak havoc. Venom really finds it hard to defeat the two of them together. In comes Spider-Man to help Venom take them down. But right when Venom is about to kill Carnage, Spidey disagrees. That’s what causes a feud between them and that’s what sets up Spider-Man vs. Venom in Venom 3.

Morbius Connects MCU & SUMC With Spider-Man

But it will obviously have to be like Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, where they fight for half the film while another villain gets stronger in the meanwhile. And finally, to take that villain or a team of villains down, those two will have to team up. And in the case of Venom 3, it seems that Carnage and Toxin will team up along with a few other Symbiotes may be. That’s when Spider-Man & Venom will have to fight harder, and may be add someone like a Morbius in their team in order to save the day. Let’s see what happens.

Skyfall Star Eyed to Play the Villain in Venom 2

Directed by Andy Serkis, Venom 2 will star Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock aka Venom, Michelle Williams as Anne Weying, Naomi Watts will play Shriek, Woody Harrelson is going to play Cletus Kasady aka Carnage and probably Tom Holland will reprise his role as Spider-Man. Venom 2 arrives on October 4, 2020.
