Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame & Joker Have Made The Oscar Shortlists
The Oscars are coming in very soon and the shortlist for the Oscars has finally arrived. The voting for the final nominations will begin on January 2nd. The members of the Academy will have 5 days to make their votes as they’ll have to do it by January 7th. And then all the nominees for the Oscars will be announced on January 13, 2020. What’s great is that Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame & Joker have made it to the Oscar shortlists. Among that, Joker & Avengers: Endgame have each been shortlisted in at least 2 categories for the 92nd Academy Awards.
Disney is pushing Endgame for 14 different Categories. They’ve added all of their main actors and actresses for Best Supporting Actor & Best Supporting Actress respectively. And they’ve even pushed Joe and Anthony Russo for the Best Director. Shortlists & nominations for all those categories will be unveiled later. But for now, we’ve got these 9 categories. So, both Joker and Avengers: Endgame have been shortlisted for best Original Score. Joker is also shortlisted for the best Makeup and Hairstyling category. And both the Disney MCU movies of this year, Captain Marvel & Avengers: Endgame have been shortlisted in the Best Visual Effects Category as well. If these films end up getting nominated and subsequently winning in these categories, then they’d be joining Marvel’s Black Panther (won the Best Original Score Oscar) and DC’s Suicide Squad (won Best Makeup and Hairstyling Oscar).
Comic Book Movies had a huge presence at the 91st Academy Awards as both Black Panther & Avengers: Infinity War bagged nominations. It would be great to see the same happen in the 92nd Academy Awards as well. Let’s see what happens.
