A New Blink & You’ll Miss It Moment Revealed By Avengers: Endgame Director
Avengers: Endgame is owned by many people now and they are coming up with plenty of little details that we all missed at the theatres. For instance, you may not have noticed that Scott Lang had orange slices ready for Clint when he first came back from his Time Travel trial run. Korg actually had fungus grown upon the rocks upon his body due to the filthy lifestyle he had taken up with Thor. So many other blinks and you’ll miss it moments happened in the film.
One of those moments in Avengers: Endgame has been revealed by the director himself. Nebula was a very important piece of the puzzle in the film. Her arc wasn’t as heroic because she was the one character in the team that failed multiple times. She was the reason Thanos was able to know about the plan of the Avengers and was able to make his way to 2023 along with his gigantic army. Thanos sent evil Nebula to the future so she could help him get to the Avengers and the Infinity Stones.
Joe Russo points out that right when Nebula is working with the Time Machine to bring Thanos to 2023, there’s a moment which would have given away her true identity in an instance. Apparently, there were fans that were confused upon seeing Nebula back to 2023 after she was caught by Thanos. Some people didn’t figure out that it was the 2014 Nebula who had made the jump back to the 2023 and not the older version of her.
So it give it away, the creatives left a little clue that you can see above. Here’s what Joe Russo said: “Alright so, if you’re paying attention, that hand should be destroyed. That would be your first clue.” Nebula obviously lost her hand during the final battle of Guardians of the Galaxy and got a new replaceable bio-megatronic body part in Vol. 2. Seeing her having the hand still intact obviously meant that the old Nebula was on Thanos’ ship while the evil one was sent to the future as a Trojan horse.
It’d be amazing to see some more of these little details in the movie. Circling back to Nebula, she didn’t get a lot of moments to shine in this movie. Although she did do two thing, turn Gamora and killed Nebula! Her arc would be interesting to see in the next movie. Rumor has it that she’d become good friends with the likes of Peter Quill while the two look for Gamora through the cosmos, or perhaps on Earth itself.
Since Nebula was the one to turn Gamora against Thanos in Avengers: Endgame, she’d be crucial to help her join the team of Guardians as well. Gamora is an important member of the team as she is the one who keeps them all in line. We cannot imagine a Guardians of the Galaxy movie without Gamora being a part of the story. So, we can imagine that she’d be brought back to the team and Nebula will be of great help in doing that. Let’s see what happens.
