Spider-Man: Far From Home Theory – Tony Stark Made The Spider That Bit Peter Parker

Spider-Man: Homecoming was the first franchise beginning movie that didn’t give us the same old story of Peter being bitten by a Spider & Uncle Ben dying. But it was still an origin story, and we loved what it brought to the table. Marvel isn’t using anything that has been used previously. The only aspect that will be reused from the past is the entry of Oscorp at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home. Except that, everything has been fresh. But we’d still we could imagine that the Spider-Man movies will take us back to the Spider biting incident.

Spider-Man: Far From Home Theory Tony Stark Peter Parker

It was the most important part of Peter’s life and Marvel will have to visit it. But they cannot give us the same old, so we should be having a twist coming into play. So far when you think about Spider-Man, what is the important element that comes to your mind? It is Tony Stark! He has been a key factor that has led Peter Parker to become the hero that we know. But what we’ve seen is him helping around and being a guiding Mentor to Peter. But what if he did much more than that?

A new theory has come into play and it suggests that Tony Stark was actually responsible for Peter getting his powers. Reddit user ImpulsiveBeetle talks about a major secret that will be revealed about Tony Stark in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Here’s what he wrote:

Spider-Man: Far From Home Theory Tony Stark Peter Parker

“This is more speculation than a theory but I believe that “the big secret” will be revealed to be that Tony was working on a project genetically enhancing animals. One of these genetically designed animals is the radioactive spider that turned Peter Parker into Spiderman.

Although in Spiderman: Homecoming Peter and Ned talked about getting bitten by the spider, they never specified how or where. This may have occurred in a Stark facility or one at least associated with him. This could explain how Tony was able to find Peter in Captain America: Civil War and find out he’s Spiderman so quickly. It never really made sense how Tony just instantly knew who Spiderman was. It could be explained that once he noticed when the spider was gone he checked who the last person to be near the spider was, that being Peter Parker.”

Knowing Tony Stark, he was up to all sorts of experiments. But Tony isn’t a biology expert so this theory doesn’t really make sense initially. Still, if you think about it, Tony became an expert in Thermonuclear Astro Physics in one night back in the first Avengers movie, so him working upon enhancing animal genetics might make sense if it were delivered properly.

But the place where this theory does become absolutely awesome is that it gives us a way to explain how Tony Stark knew who Peter Parker was. He obviously did not choose him to be bitten by the radioactive spider as that part has to be an accident. But you don’t expect Iron Man to check every window in every house to find out who the Web Slinger from Civil War was. Tony could have kept tabs upon Peter all along as the incident that happened at a Stark facility would have allowed him to find Peter easily.

Another proposal that comes from the Reddit user is a way to bring Norman Osborn into the MCU using this theory. He continues:

“This may be used as a way to introduce Norman Osborn into the MCU by making it so that Tony was working with him on the project. Peter finding out that Norman and Tony worked together could be a comfortable and organic way to introduce a known character into the MCU instead of just cramming him in as if he’s been there the whole time without having any connections to any other characters.”

Norman Osborn has always had a special connection with Peter Parker. Usually, it’s through his son but this theory gives us a great way for Osborn to be connected to Pete! I say go for it, Marvel! And kudos to the Reddit user ImpulsiveBeetle!
