10. Luna Lovegood:
Some people might be surprised to see this name in the list as Luna is portrayed as one of the most gentle creatures but what we often forget is that Luna’s optimism and quirky attitude is one of her biggest strengths. Ginny’s character wasn’t fully explored in the movies and she appeared to be a plain character. However, in the books, she had a lot of growth as a witch and a student. She was able to perform some extremely advanced spells which even led to her impressing Slughorn and getting a place in the Slug Club.

As much as we hate her for being so evil and murdering our favourite characters, we must acknowledge the fact that Bellatrix Lestrange was highly skilled and a very powerful witch. She was highly devoted to Voldemort and probably his most loyal follower and supporter. She was the most dangerous death eater as she could go to any extent to fulfill the dark lord’s wishes and malicious schemes.

Another powerful witch is none other than the kind-hearted and often fearless Molly Weasley who can do anything for her children and family. She does not harm anyone unnecessarily but in times of need, she can be as fierce as a lion. Molly is the one who kills Bellatrix Lestrange after protecting her daughter from the death eater.

The founder of Ravenclaw house was one of the sharpest and most insightful witches of her time. Rowena admired intelligence and was herself the brightest witch of her age. Her wit and skill were celebrated by everyone and people came to her for solutions for different problems and issues.

The most favourite and popular witch in the Potter series is none other than the extraordinary and most loved character of Hermione Granger. Hermione is responsible for the survival of the golden trio until the end as her mind and brilliance saved the day on countless occasions. She totally deserved the title of the brightest witch of her age and according to the Cursed child, she also became the minister of magic which is the most powerful position.
1. Minerva McGonagall:
One of the most powerful witches in the wizarding world was none other than our beloved professor McGonagall who was the master of transfiguration and a truly extraordinary witch and person. Minerva McGonagall is the head of Gryffindor house and later becomes the headmistress of Hogwarts which we all know she truly deserved. Despite her age, she contributed highly in the battle of Hogwarts and her combat skills are nothing short of legendary.
