Marvel Reveals The First Official Look at Loki TV Series For Disney+

Loki TV Series:

The future of the MCU post-Spider-Man: Far From Home is going to be very diversified and all over the place. We are going to see new faces in the MCU along with the ones we’re familiar with. There are going to be two areas that Marvel is going to cover in their upcoming projects to expand their cosmic Universe, and apparently the Multiverse. The Earth and space-based projects are going to feature in two ways – Feature length movies & Disney+ TV series.

The upcoming slate of everything post-Spider-Man: Far From Home will be revealed at D23 Expo. Considering that it is the big Disney event that happens once in 2 years, we can imagine that we’d be getting the slate of the movies and the TV series as well. But the funny thing is that we do have a rough idea of what’s coming.

We just have to get the confirmations of when those future projects will come out. In the case of the films, we may have new projects like The Eternals & Shang Chi, but the rest are mostly going to be sequels. Things get interesting when you talk about Disney+ shows as everything is a new and innovative attempt. So far, we’ve had confirmations of just 4 live action MCU TV shows which include Falcon & Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Loki and Hawkeye solo. There are rumors which suggest that we could also be getting a Lady Sif series.

Deadline reported what original content Disney plans to bring in the upcoming years:

“There may be as many as 18 films and 16 TV series in some form of development for [Disney+]. Plus we expect some licensed content to be purchased or repurchased from other outlets as Disney looks to fill in programming gaps prior to the service’s launch later this year.”

Well, out of these 16 TV shows, we can be sure that at least half of them are going to be Marvel related. So far we’ve only got Information about Falcon & Winter Soldier as Marvel revealed their logo at the previous Disney event. Now we know that they will begin filming this October and the show will premiere next August.

The next show we got the confirmation for was a Loki series. Back in April we only got the logo of the Falcon & Winter Soldier series as mentioned above, but apparently, they also revealed a logo and a piece of concept art for the series. It was restricted by the investors invited there to show the piece of art, but now those restrictions have been lifted.

Now Disney has released the first official image of the event that took place in April, and as you can see, it’s Tom Hiddleston who is on Earth! Disney obviously didn’t want to give this reveal away because Loki was officially dead before Avengers: Endgame. It is the change in the events of 2012 that brought him back into the picture when he stole the Tesseract. The creatives of Endgame have confirmed that Loki doing that does create a branch reality, and that’s probably what the show will be based on.

Since Falcon & Winter Soldier and Loki are the only shows we’ve seen something for, we can imagine that they are going to be the first ones to hit the streaming service. Falcon & Winter Soldier is coming out in August while the Loki show could either be placed before it or after. All of the Marvel shows on the streaming service will contain about 6-8 episodes. Loki should also fall in that bracket.

Kevin Feige is pretty excited about Disney+ as he said:

“Disney+ is, yes. Which is another exciting avenue and another exciting thing about being at this place at this time and goes back to the amount of characters we have and the amount of stories we could tell.”

Let’s see what else Feige and co will bring in for us.
