There has been a lot of movie projects out there which were dumped because of too many delays, but, New Mutants has probably made a record for shifting the release date on several occasions. We all know that the first trailer of New Mutants made its way in 2017. And, the fans were really thrilled to see a mix of horror in a superhero movie. The movie was declared to release in April 2018. But, since, then we have seen the makers of this film changing the date on multiple occasions. And, now it has again gone for a new release date, that is April 3, 2020.
But, now it has been revealed by the producer of X-Men franchise, Simon Kinberg the real reason behind all these embarrassing delays. Kinberg, in an interview with Digital Spy, finally revealed,
“What’s happening is we’re gonna do reshoots this year on that film and it has a new release date from Disney,” Kinberg revealed this to Digital Spy. “That’s really it. Part of it was figuring out what the reshoots were gonna be, the pick-ups, and the other part of it was getting that cast back together.”
Simon Kinberg also talked about their approach and finds that Marvel has a better approach than Fox. He admits having made a goof up with the scheduling and all of that stuff, at which Marvel is way better. He said,
“For all of these movies, Marvel’s really brilliant at scheduling pick-ups into their budget and schedule so it’s all prepared, and we have never been that smart,” Kinberg added. “For us, we’re always scrambling to get these actors back together so they’re all in the same place at the same time.”
