First Official Terminator: Dark Fate Trailer Released

One of the most anticipated movies of the year is Terminator 6 which brings back Arnold Schwarzenegger as the titular character for one last time. He may be old, but he’s certainly not obsolete. His version of T-800 would still pull in a hefty crowd, but the fact that James Cameron returns as producer, Linda Hamilton reprises her role as Sarah Connor and Deadpool Director Tim Miller has directed the film certainly helps the cause of the film. And now, the marketing has begun as we’ve got the First Official Terminator: Dark Fate Trailer:

It was a good trailer as we got to see almost everyone involved in the film. We got a good look at all the new characters that have come into the picture. Gabriel Luna’s evil Terminator does look pretty sick, and we’ve got a good look at the new protagonist, Grace (Mackenzie Davis) who seems to be a Cyborg herself. She will probably become the face of the franchise from here on out as this new movie is said to be the first of a new trilogy. Sarah Connor returns as this bad ass and connects the film to Judgement Day.

While all the action seems to be great, the only thing that every die-hard Terminator fan will regret is that Arnie was totally missing from the trailer, barring one little scene. Right from the beginning, we’ve not seen enough of Arnold Schwarzenegger for this film, and the fact that he was practically absent from this trailer does make us think that he doesn’t have as big of a role as we expect.

Well, we can only hope. This was only the first trailer so we could assume that the great parts of the film will might be saved for later. Perhaps the second and the third trailers may give us enough Arnold to shut our mouths. So let’s just stay positive, and enjoy an evil Ghost Rider Terminator for now.

Last year James Cameron had a whole lot to talk about when it came to Dark Fate. He said:

“We’re developing a new Terminator film. And The Terminator films are all about artificial intelligence. But I would say we’re looking at it differently than when I wrote the first story in 1982. That was just your classic ‘technology bad, smart computers bad’ kind of thing. Nowadays though — it’s got to be a much more nuanced perspective. So its ‘Smart computers bad… BUT…’ That’s the new motif.”

So this movie is going to continue the story of the 2 good Terminator movies that James Cameron previously directed. The events of Terminator 3, 4 & 5 will be ignored just like Halloween (2018) ignored all the other crappy Halloween movies and was a direct sequel to the one that came out in 1978. This is supposed to be the movie where Arnie passes on the Baton to other someone else (probably Gabriel Luna), and departs from the franchise on a very high note.

Terminator 6

Arnold Schwarzenegger is very confident about this movie because of Cameron and Miller. He said:

“I think Cameron and [director Tim] Miller came up with a concept where they can continue on with the T-800 but make a whole new movie. What they are doing now with this one is basically to just take a few very basic characters, like Linda Hamilton’s character and my character, and dismiss everything else. Just move away from all these rules of the timeline and other characters.”

Directed by Tim Miller from a script written by Billy Ray, David S. Goyer, Justin Rhodes, Josh Friedman and Charles H. Eglee, Terminator 6 stars Mackenzie Davis, Gabriel Luna, Natalia Reyes, Diego Boneta along with Arnold Schwarzenegger as T-800 and Linda Hamilton as Sarah Conner. Terminator: Dark Fate comes out on November 1, 2019.
