Avengers: Endgame Writers Confirm Captain America to be the Father of Peggy Carter’s Kids
Well, everybody knows that there are some loopholes in Avengers: Endgame, as every single moment is in some way or the other connected to the stories floating in the MCU. And major of the concerns are related to Captain America and what impact his decision would have on the timeline? But, the answer delivered by the writers of Endgame has divided the fanbase into two. Yes, it is true because they’ve revealed that Captain America aka. Steve Rogers is the father of Peggy Carter’s two children and this has simply blown away the minds of die-hard Marvel fans.
In an interview with THR, the duo admitted that there are time loopholes in the movie. And Stephen McFeely stated,
“It was always our intention that he was the father of those two children. But again, there are time travel loopholes for that.” And it was Christopher Markus who went on to add that, “It does introduce the idea that there are two children who have somewhat super soldier DNA.”
Well, no wonder we all are kinda shocked by this revelation as it has created a lot of tension and issues with the timeline. But, one Reddit user came forward and tried to untangle things. He wrote,
“That breaks the time travel rules established in the movie. And the directors already said Steve lived his life with Peggy in an alternate timeline and then jumped back to the original timeline as an old man. The directors overrule the writers in my opinion. And since the writers’ statements don’t line up with the film, I’m disregarding them. Plus that would mean Steve unknowingly kissed one of his relatives during the Civil War. Not a fan of that at all. I’ll stick with the directors’ statements instead. It fits the rules and it makes perfect sense.
Another Reddit user supported what the directors had said about the timeline and went on to write,
“Well, the directors say he went to a new timeline with an alternate Peggy. The writers suggest he stayed in the current timeline with the original Peggy. That’s a contradiction so both can’t be true, right? So I’ve just decided to agree with the directors because that fits with the explanations that Bruce and Ancient One give in the movie.”
Well, this has definitely created a lot of disturbances in the timeline but along with this, we are all the more excited about the future and how will they clear this mess. Well, for now, Avengers: Endgame is still running in theaters.
