Avengers: Endgame Theory – Captain Britain & Psylocke are Descendants of Captain America

With Avengers: Endgame having set up a vivid future for the MCU, we can’t help but spawn theories about how the future could turn out to be. There are theories regarding how Namor could make his debut, why Thor is with the Guardians, how Young Avengers could be formed and many more, but now a new ones comes in, which tells us how Captain Britain is actually going to be related to Captain America himself.

Avengers: Endgame gave us a major tease of Brian Braddock aka Captain Britain during the 1970s scene where Peggy was in her office while Cap was looking at her through a Window. She said:

“Braddock hasn’t checked in. I’m not a meteorologist and it’s not lightning.”

This reference was indeed made for Captain Britain, but during the recent Happy Sad Confused Podcast, Joe Russo tried to play Coy with us. When asked about Captain Britain, he said:

“I think we uh, maybe… or maybe it’s just a guy named Braddock [laughs].”

Considering this, we’ve got a new theory which has been brought forward by Reddit user CinematicESP, who suggests that this guy named Braddock is actually an alias that Steve Rogers uses in his life with Peggy. This theory obviously builds upon the fact that Steve and Peggy have kids in this timeline that Steve has created. It says:

“What if Steve is trying to lay low when he goes back in time to spend a life with Peggy, it would make sense that he might use an alias. What if the Agent Braddock mentioned in Endgame was Steve, hence Peggy’s concern for his whereabouts?

Jumping off from that, perhaps they settle down in Peggy’s home country of England to raise a family… including Brian and Betsy Braddock, either their children or grandchildren.

Captain Britain, the super soldier son (or grandson) of Captain America.”

Well, this surely is an insane theory which could turn out to be really amazing. It would explain why Brian Braddock becomes “Captain” Britain. But for it to happen, Marvel will have to ignore a certain plot hole. Given that we see Steve Rogers look at Peggy Carter in 1970s where a Braddock already exists, we know that Steve Rogers isn’t, in fact, Braddock because he is currently under the ice.

Still, this theory could work as what if that old Braddock was just some guy, and Steve having come back to the past does settle in as another guy named Braddock. This way Brian and Betsy Braddock could be his descendants. But then again, both Psylocke and Captain Britain will be related to Steve Rogers in this alternate timeline and not the one where Steve returns as an old man.

A lot of explanation will be required to make this theory happen. So don’t expect Marvel to really go through this path. But it’s really cool to think of it. It was reported last year that Guy Ritchie could be hired to direct a Captain Britain and Black Knight team up movie. In fact, both of these heroes could be a part of the next team of Avengers. So let’s see what happens.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Vin Diesel as Groot, Dave Bautista as Drax, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Gwyneth Paltrow Pepper Potts, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Benedict Wong as Wong, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, William Hurt as General Ross, Tilda Swinton as Ancient One and Josh Brolin as Thanos.
