The First Avengers: Endgame Clip Tells Us That The Infinity Stones Still Work
Just about 2 weeks left before we get to see Avengers: Endgame. The funny thing about its marketing is that we weren’t getting anything from Marvel about a month back, and now they just aren’t stopping as we keep on getting new footage from the film. First, we wanted more, and now that they are giving us what we asked for, we want them to stop. Marvel has released the first clip of Avengers: Endgame, and it is the same footage that was shown at CinamaCon and Disney’s shareholders’ meeting. Take a look:
So there you go. We have finally seen the first scene that will legit be in the film, and no amount of Marvel CGI trickery would be a part of it. An interesting point to note here is that the Avengers do know that the Infinity Stones work, and they are looking to try and reverse the Snap if it is indeed possible.
Also as mentioned above, this scene exactly matches the description of the footage shown at Cinema Con, only the footage shown there much more elaborate than this 1-minute sequence. Here’s the description given by Comicbook.com:
“Captain Marvel is ready to leave the Avengers facility “to kill Thanos” at the top of the clip. Black Widow wants to work as a team but Captain Marvel has a cocky attitude, claiming Thanos has never faced someone as powerful as her. Captain America realizes “up there” is more her territory but thinks they should work together. She might know people who know where Thanos is but doesn’t know him herself.
Nebula explains Carol need not bother with a search. She knows where Thanos is.
Cut ahead, Nebula goes on about how Thanos made her want to please him, even when she was disassembled, failing, and in pain. His answer to where they would go when his plan was complete would always be “The Garden.”
A hologram comes up — Rocket Raccoon shows that two days ago a similar event to the one that occurred on Earth happened on another planet. He used the Stones again. Captain Marvel wants to use the Stones to bring everyone back and undo Thanos snapping his fingers. Black Widow wants to try. Bruce Banner is hesitant.
Captain Marvel says “because before you didn’t have me” is the reason they failed to defeat Thanos the first time.
“Hey, new girl, everybody in this room is about that super hero life, if you don’t mind me asking, where the hell were you before all of this?” Rhodes asks Carol. She says she was helping other planets which, unfortunately, didn’t have the Avengers. Thor steps to Carol and summons Stormbreaker. She doesn’t flinch.
“I like this one,” Thor says.
Cut ahead, again. “Let’s go get this son of a bitch,” Captain America says.
The Endgame logo plays. The Benetar ship is then seen heading into space. All of the Avengers except Tony are on board. Black Widow, Cap, and Rhodey have never been to space, to Rocket’s dismay, requesting none of them throw up in his ship. They approach a jump, Cap watches the vibrant colors go by, and the ship speeds off.”
So it is clear that the Avengers will decide to go and take on Thanos within the first 15-20 minutes of the movie. Captain Marvel obviously arrives right at the start but since Nebula is also present here, we can only assume that Tony Stark is also there. It would be tough to place Ant-Man’s arrival as it could either be after the Avengers return from The Garden or right before it. What we can presume rightly is that Hawkeye would be recruited after the first battle.
Also, in the first battle, it seems that Tony Stark and Bruce Banner will stay behind. It is only in the second battle that Tony will be involved as we saw in the Special look of Avengers: Endgame. As Banner said, the Avengers would be going in very shorthanded as their first attack would include the team of Captain America, Black Widow, War Machine, Rocket, Thor, Captain Marvel, and Nebula.
Rest we’ll find out when the movie arrives on April 26.
