Avengers: Endgame is going to be released in a few weeks and we all are really excited about this one. Chris Evans as Captain America will come up on the big screen for one last time and we literally don’t know whether he’s going to die or will spend his life with Peggy Carter in the past. But, there’s no doubt that we are going to miss his screen presence in the future films of the MCU.
Also, he is a man who stands for his beliefs without worrying about its adverse effects. And, Evans has recently stated his straightforward political beliefs again in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter where he talked about his views on President Donald Trump.
Evans has been criticizing Trump for a very long time despite knowing that this could turn some of his audience against him. But, he doesn’t care about this little loss, as for him, his beliefs are bigger than anything. Evans said,
“You don’t want to alienate half your audience. But I’d be disappointed in myself if I didn’t speak up. Especially for fear of some monetary repercussion or career damage — that just feels really gross to me.”
Then, when he asked about the apparent support of Tom Brady for Donald Trump. Evans added,
“I really hope he’s not a Trump supporter. I’m just hoping he’s one of those guys that may be supported him and now regrets it. Maybe he thought it was going to be different — and even that bothers me — but maybe there’s a chance now he just thinks Trump’s an absolute dumb shit, which he is. If he doesn’t, if he’s still on that Trump train, I might have to cut ties. It’s really tough.”
Well, Evans not only has the support of a lot of people and fans but also Kevin Feige who backs up his act. He further added,
“Marvel has never said anything. On the contrary — when I bump into Kevin Feige the first thing out of his mouth is ‘Man, I love what you’re doing [on Twitter].’”
Kevin Feige had said regarding the subject,
“I don’t see it as trash-talking. I see it as very astute, very honorable, very noble, very Cap-like. Commentary and questioning. I’ve said to him, ‘You’re merging! You and the character are merging!”
The reason why Chris Evans has a lot of supporters behind him is that he is like Steve Rogers in real life too.
