Avengers: Endgame Theory –
As time has passed all of us in the Marvel fandom have come to accept the reality of the snap. We have come to accept that we lost half of all our characters in an instant and we have also come to accept that some these deaths might be irreversible ergo permanent in nature. But the majority of the fandom knows that Marvel comics love to kill off its major characters only to revive them in some absurd manner in the subsequent issues. That is the reason why deaths of Infinity War lack a concrete impact. We feel the loss but it is ultimately mitigated by an expectation of the resurrection.
The real question is how Marvel will pull off this escape from the black hole of unnecessary deaths in the story arc. Fans have speculated over the last year and there have been numerous theories regarding the same. A lot of these theories and plot leaks have focused on and/or suggested a plan by the Avengers involving time travel throughout the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Although we have no concrete proof, the fandom still believes that the counter attack of Avengers against Thanos will involve them travelling through time and collecting the time remnants of the infinity stones to challenge the Mad Titan in his apparent retirement. The warn torn timeline of Avengers: Endgame is sure to see some action and mind boggling physics but there is something of relevance that has been ignored by the fandom up until now. Recently, on March 8, Marvel studios came out with Captain Marvel.
The movie focused on the origin story of Carol Danvers aka the Kree warrior capable of harnessing the power cosmic because of her exposure to the Tesseract energy. The transformation of Captain Marvel into her binary form at the end of Captain Marvel is proof that Carol Danvers is capable of magnificent things. The theory focuses a lot on the history of the infinity stones. It talks about how each of the infinity stones has severely affected one or more Avengers, to the point that the Avengers now automatically resonate with the energy of the infinity stones themselves. It seems entirely feasible that the infinity stones use people as conduits of their energy. We have seen this happen with Captain Marvel and the space stone, Jane foster and the reality stone, Barton and the mind stone, Shuri and Scarlet Witch with the mind stone, Rocket Raccoon with the power stone, Doctor Strange with the time stone and so on.
The implication in the theory is that Captain Marvel will be imperative and indispensable to the plans of Avengers even if such a plan involves time travel. The idea is that Captain Marvel is the force that will unite the infinity stones now that the gauntlet is destroyed after the snap that ended half of all life in creation.
It seems that the redditor is implicating that Captain Marvel will travel through time and collect energy from all of the stones. This confirms with all of the plot leaks and set footage we have seen up until now. Maybe this will result in the final transformation of Carol Danvers into her cosmic and infinity stone powered binary form.
We may as well see a full powered Captain Marvel return from the abyss and challenge Thanos to an all-out battle once he has defeated the remaining might of the Avengers that went to oppose him. It is also entirely possible that this final fight will be the one that will result in the resurrection of the dead characters. Maybe the battle that takes place is so time-and-space altering that changes the very fabric of teasing.
It is not unlike Marvel to convolute the narrative so much that the events no longer conform to the rules of time and space and we know it.
